We are looking for some good things to do at the NM Retreats, have any ideas?
We are also looking for new songs and chants if you know any! Less then 2 weeks till I have new sisters!
NME stays for one semster or two by you girls? We have it staying two (both fall and spring semsters) but I am trying to get that changed.

What does NME mean? Is that New Member Educator?

What type of things are you looking for the retreat? Get to know each other or just some activities?

How exciting that there will be new Sig Delts soon

In SDT,
Elena

We use NME as short for New Member Educator...

I want a few get to know you activites, but not that many...more just hanging out and having a good time.

I am making everyone bring something that means something to them and they have to explain why.

I know! I can't wait! 11 Days until I have four new awsome sisters!

How cute! Show and Tell

Hi Buttonz. Regarding if the NME should be for both or only one semester, I definetly think that they should stay for two. NME is an eboard position, so it would create a lot of issues changing the board every semester. rather, let the new board as a whole complete the entire year. Since our houses positons run from jan -dec , the NME would first have a class in the spring, the spring class is generally smaller for our house and so is a good way to ease the position on the educator, so that when fall rolls around with a larger class they are experience and ready for the challenge.

Just curious, but why do you want it to change every semester??

Buttonz, i also PMed you with other stuff

I guess if it was Jan-Dec it wouldn't be that bad...but we are June-May, which means the Fall class *the larger class* is the NME's first class which makes it tough. I am talking from experince here.

our new member educator position was voted on every semester and then we were made to change. I am a huge advocate of one semester pledge moms, alot of issues arise from taking multiple classes.
As far as NM activities, every wednesday evening we had "basic" where we would get together entire chapter and hang out. We made scrapbooks one week, learned songs one week, we also used that time to prepare for homecoming or greek week, since everyone always knew Wednesday evening was an activity there was no "well I have to work" excuses. Wednesday was always something, same as chapter meetings.
