AOL buddy icons??

Okay, I've done major search for a half decent Tau Beta Sigma buddy icon. I've found one with the crest, but I want something cutesy. I have tried for the past 30 min's to create one. But I'm not very computer smart. I've been to countless websites like (www.greekbuddyicons.com) but none yet.

Any ideas, suggestions, or someone willing to help???

do you have photoshop?

when i had a greek buddy icon, i had to make it myself since i'm in a local. i just found some really cute symbols (yellow rose, etc) shrunk them down, and layered them. you can add text layers and shading really easily.

it's pretty hard to do the same with anything microsoft has to offer. paint doesn't let you have nonrectangular areas selected and also doesn't let you have layers. make the most you've got with that by having one big symbol, and then just adding text and a background pattern?

i hope you find some success in making your own icons!!

One of my sisters told me to downlaod photoshop....I AM IN LOVE WITH IT! I'ts simple to you and you can make gret things.....I've even made a GCer or two buddy icons

okay, my question is for those of us using AOL, how do I change my buddy icon and use one that I've gotten off of another website. I can only seem to use the AOL icons

either the website will have a button that you click to download the icon or you have to upload it yourself. if it's a stationary icon, copy and paste it into a paint program and make sure it's saved as a .jpg file. then, when you go to change your icon, click on the Borwse PC button. if it's an animated icon, well, i'm not too good with those. but there really should be a button through the website that takes care of everything.

If you double-click the icon you want (left mouse button), a prompt usually shows up saying "are you sure you want to change your icon to this?" Hit yes, and the icon should be yours!

When you say a "cute" icon, what do you mean? You can take a look at the Beta icons I've made at http://www.geocities.com/bsphi/buddyicons.html and see the style I usually make. If you like them, I can try to make you an icon if you tell me what you might want on it.

super cute buddy icons betarose!! the aephi ones i have seen are mostly blah.

i don't really know how to make icons from scratch but i was able to cut and paste my letters onto ones that weren't very glo specific (didn't have mascots or colors) like the aephi angels one i made.
