Talking Homecoming 2003

So what sort of events and such do your chapters have going or planned for your Homecoming? I miss Homecoming I was in charge of it at my University for 2 years in a row so I loved all the hype!

Well, this year is the 100th anniversary of my university. So I sent an email to all the alum sisters I could and we are heading up for the weekend. We are going out Friday night, tailgating on Sat. going to the game, out on sat, and then brunch on Sunday! Whew! So far we have about 10 of us who are committed, and a bunch of others who at least know about it so hopefully will show up! I also emailed the active chapter to see what they have planned. They are deciding on that this week (yeah, Homecoming is 2 weeks away and they are just planning - Pi Zeta has always been procrastinators!). The actives said they are really excited to meet us and want to go out with us on Sat. Oh goodness, I might be at a fraternity party on Sat. night!!!

So I just got back from trip to Western Michigan for Homecoming. It was SO much fun! Unfortunately, a bunch of women cancelled last minute. But I still got to see a few old friends.

Saturday we went to the game. We lost. But I was excited to see that the dance team still does the routine I made up in 1994 after the team kicks the extra point!

That night we went to the house. They had finally had it painted this summer and got new beautiful furniture. Everything is in shades of cardinal and straw and it looks amazing! We ended up going out later that night with some of the actives and had so much fun! I was really impressed with the way things are going there. They have a lot more positive programming and are more involved with outside activities, but are still the same super fun girls they were when I was active.

I have already started thinking about planning for the 50th anniversary of Pi Zeta chapter in 2010!!!

APSU Homecoming

Here at APSU, my favorite event for Homecoming will be the Ebony and Ivory Greek Step-Off!!!! I love Step shows and having the ENTIRE greek community doing it will just be fabulous!

We also have a trick-or-treating event for the local lil kids called
GHOST (Great Halloween Options for Safe Trick or Treating). It's a better option than going out to neighborhoods. Each organization sets up a table and everybody comes around to look at the table's theme, costumes, and get candy! YAY! I think I am going to be a nun this year.

Let's see... what else... we have a bonfire... but, i guess everybody has that.... we also have the traditional tailgate.

There's a Comedy Show with some comedians from BET's "Comic View"

um... there's more too... but I can't think of it all.
