Eclipse,
I live in NW Indiana, but work and "do my business" in Chicago. It is cold as HELL here. We got like 16 inches of snow on Monday, and believe me, it wasn't nothin' nice.
It took me about three hours to drive the 30 miles from downtown Chicago to home.

I'm in Ohio, and so far, so good. But since I've lived here all my life, I know that that will change overnite.

Kansas City will get between 6-8 inches today, on top of the ice we got 3 days ago. I'm freezing my a$$ off. I don't even want to take my baby (my dog) outside to go to the bathroom!
One of my Black Planet buddies in Chicago said they had a blizzard warning. Glad I'm not there!

I am in the Kansas City area and it is COLLLLLD. We had snow and ice Monday, but I still had class. It snowed all night and is still snowing now. Luckily, my professor cancelled for tonight. As bad as I need to go to the cleaners, post office, and the mall, I am not going to even try it.
Bundle UP!!

I feel terribly sorry for all of you out there living in the cold. I'm in Cali, and I'm strugglin' now, so Lord knows I would not be able to function in any state with temps below 40! However, I do wish that I could see some snow. It's so beautiful! I remember playing in it when I was a little kid (When I used to live in Washington). Oh yeah, and speaking of snow, is anyone going to the Black Ski Weekend that's coming up in March (I think)? I'm thinking about going.
Happy Holidays ladies! And remember, when it gets cold, I'm sure there's always someone you could find to cuddle up with!
To AKA2D '91: Sorry to hear about the crazy weather in LA. I might be down there for Christmas to see the fam! I doubt it though since my plans always end up getting screwed!

Hey Ladies,
I'm in Michigan and it's FREEZING here! I'm in Ann Arbor and we got 18 in. the other day! Unfortunately, they don't cancel classes here (due to some lawsuit eons ago), but you can opt not to go to class However, since I had a final on Tuesday, I had to go to campus Luckily, I own a Jeep, so I just put that baby in 4-Wheel Drive and plowed my way to class

I knew it, I knew it, I knew it. You can't count on any type of consistency in this state. I don't know why I don't just get used to it. Only in Ohio can it be 50 degrees one day and an ice storm the next. It's just nasty outside. I have got to move away from this mess. And winter is my favorite season. All I want is snow. I don't like this ice storm mess. And I was SO excited when the snow storm hit yesterday!! I had it all planned out, sledding, snowball fights, snow angels. Then, without even four inches on the ground, it just stops. Then here comes the ice. It's not fair, I tell you, it's just not fair.

Today in central Florida it is sunny and I think the high is supposed to be in the mid 80's ... the low mid 60's!

I don't miss the midwest winters at all!
I spent 26 years in the snow, ice, wind, etc...Florida is a welcomed change!
The only time I miss the snow is on Christmas Day.
Sorors and Sister Friends...be careful in the snow (walking & driving) it can get dangerous out there in a matter of minutes!

I am in Chicago and my bossis on vacation this week which means I have to come to work in knee high snow on the bus. The snow plow company for the building where I work at hasn't come in yet and I've been calling since Monday morning. I had to stay overnight at my job! Luckily, my aunt stays in the building where I work so she's letting me stay with her. but nothing is like your own nice, warm bed.

I am in the Oklahoma City area and it is FREEZING outside. We've gotten about 6 inches of snow since Tuesday and they are expecting a freezing rain tonight. Being from Louisiana, I am not used to this. The snow is pretty though.

Why oh why did I choose to come back to this state when I could have just stayed in sunny North Carolina? It snowed again here in Michigan yesterday (almost 5 inches on top of the 15 we got a couple days ago) and yet another day of closed schools....which for me means no work
On top of that lost both pairs of my gloves...Remember when you used to get in trouble for losing your hat, gloves, etc? i need one of those clasps that connect your gloves to your coat. I have been wearing a pair of NIKE socks over my hands cause the roads have too been to terrible to drive on in order to get to the store to get new ones
