Shinning was a great film. I would love to see the Dark Castle be made into a movie. But that would be too hard.

I noticed that King's book either gonna rock or it's gonna suck. Nothing in between. Dreamcatcher sucked. The book is great, the movied sucked.

Totally agree! I read it in 8th grade...after I found it hidden in the cabinet w/the cook books-it freaked my mom out so much, she didn't want me to read it!!! Same thing with "It." The book scared the crap out of me, but no movie could scare me as much as my own imagination.

I guess that's why "Shawshank" & "Green Mile" made better movies...b/c they weren't all about supernatural/scary/weirdness.

Kathy Bates was pure greatness in "Misery."

HE DIDN'T GET OUT OF THE COCK-A-DOODIE CAR!!!

My daughter's nickname is "Firestarter" because I swear, she could set fire to things with her eyes if I let her get mad enough!

Carrie is awesome, as was The Shining (the original w/ Jack Nicholson--the Steven Weber from Wings version is ok and stays true to the book, but I couldn't get over the fact that it's Steven Weber from Wings ). The Green Mile was also very good, and I love The Shawshank Redemption even though I haven't read the short story.

Needful Things was probably the most horrendous SK movie ever.

ETA: Out of curiosity, I IMDB'd Stephen King. Here's the page with all of his stuff: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000175/

When I was a kid IT scared the crap out of me. I watched it recently though with some sisters and it was just boring! Oh well. IMO Shawshank Redemption is the best, that movie is just freakin' fabulous, one of my absolutel favorites of ALL time! Thinner was horrible too by the way.

How many of those movies did Stephen King actually direct?

Take the Shining for example. Stephen King wrote the book but it was Stanley Kubrick who ended up making the movie that starred Jack Nicholson. The movie did well but Stephen King hated the Stanley Kubrick version so much that years later he made his own version starring Steven Weber from Wings. The Stephen King version sucked.

The movies that I didn't like were Longaliers, Tommyknockers, Stand, Rose Red and Storm of the Century.

I liked Shawshank, and Green Mile. Both were directed by Frank Darabont.
