Ooey Gooey Mushy Stuff

So, you know how when you date someone and the newness of it all kinds of fades away....what are the little sweet or romantic things you do to make your bf/gf smile?

I'm a big sap!!! I like romantic things...slow dancing in their bedroom, flowers, hugs that last forever, poems they write for me, cards "just because it's Tuesday", cooking me dinner, anything that makes me say awwww

Take each day as a gift. Tell him/her how much you really care. Saying "I Love You" never gets old. Make sure you let them know exactly how you feel. Send them sweet emails, find song lyrics that remind you of him/her, leave a cute voicemessages, call thier work and ask to leave a very sweet message for when he/she returns. The oppurtunites are endless when it comes to letting someone know you care its just up to you NOT to let them pass you by.

Romance doesn't fade - it matures. MisterMadly and I have been married for a little while now, and sometimes the most mundane things he does for me are the most romantic - like drawing a hot bubble bath for me if I've had a hard day at school or a hard workout at the gym.

Thoughtfulness goes a long way - and that doesn't always involve buying stuff.

And like IHeart says - never underestimate the power of a well-timed "I Love You".

I always wanted to like all that mushy stuff but I just can't bring myself to. It just makes me gag. I am a big skeptic though and just not a very nice person in general, so maybe that's why the whole romance thing kinda throws me.

The little things always count. Thoughtful emails, text messages, long hugs, calling just to say I've been thinking about you or I miss you, massages, naps, cooking dinner, baking, letting your SO choose the movie for once, etc.

Heh, well, the latest ooey-gooey mushy thing he did for me was this:

Well, we were at a local flea market (w/some kiss ass vendors) and me and one of my sisters were walking around taking a break from the guys when we happened to come across a vendor with these absolutely gorgeous silver rings. I spotted this one silver band that had pink stones all around it with silver separating each stone. I fell in looooove with it Well, we go back to the boys and TKE209 wants to walk around and all. We happen *teehee* to walk near the ring vendor, well, I'm telling how much I would loooooove this certain ring and all, just doing the normal girly stuff. Well, he shrugs it off and drags me away.

Later, we finally get back to the truck and I'm sitting there talking with one of his bro's while he's with the rest of them playing hackey-sack. I didn't notice he had left the boys. Well, I then here all this hooting and hollering coming from the guys. I look back and TKE209 has his back turned from me but he looked back and grinned all goofy. I didn't think anything of it. I continued talking to MJ when TKE209 came up by me and sat next to me on the talkgate. He just placed his hand on my knee like he always did when MJ looked down and said, "My Dusty..doesn't that look pretty". I looked down and on his pinkie there was my ring!!

See, he's a very poor college boy so this meant a lot

My ex was pretty sweet... when we were away from each other during winter break, he'd write me the sweetest e-mails, I printed them all out and still have them. When we would be driving, we'd give each other a little kiss at each red light. We'd put on "our song" and just hold hands in the car. And I love slow dancing in their bedroom!

Well said. What I thought was romantic 10 years ago isn't what I would call romantic now. I would much rather have Mr. MereMere take over with the baby so I can take a nap over flowers anyday
