Have you guys seen...

the new Orbitz website. i was looking for tickets to France the other day and their selection was huge. I feel like they changed their site and there's more options and twice as many choices than the other airline sites.. Let me know if you guys saw the same thing. This is for international flights.

When are you going to France? I'll be there next spring. I'll have to check out the new Orbitz. Bon Voyage!

I'm trying to go during x-mas time. I've been checking out Orbitz to see when I can get the best fare. I heard x-mas is really nice there, but I"m scared it might be too cold. When are you going?

That's funny that everyone is going away! I just booked tix thru Orbitz for Thanksgiving...only $437! I looked at Expedia and they were $484. I know it isn't a huge difference....but when you are penny pinching...every dime counts!

Maybe for international stuff they have more, but for domestic flights they're missing a lot.

I'm keeping an eye on prices from Pittsburgh to Tampa b/c that's where our cruise for spring break leaves from.......

There were better prices and a better selection at the individual airline's homepages, and then you also don't have to pay that service fee!

Kddani -

That's awesome that you are going on a cruise. We haven't booked our spring break travel yet. Where are you cruising to? Does the ship have a casino? I went on a cruise a few years ago and the casino was a blast!

Anyway...I don't know all the details of your trip but b/c I have had success with Orbitz so I put your location in there for a March 27 departure and an April 3 return. I don't know when you are actually traveling, but I took a "guesstimation". Orbitz actually returned a flight for that time on Delta airlines for $285. When I went to Delta's website...they were quoting it for $331. It may be worth it for you to take another look.

We're really excited about it!
We're leaving March 6 from Tampa and returning March 11 (going to Grand Cayman and Cozumel).
When I plugged it into Orbitz and Travelocity this morning, the cheapest they gave me was US Air for $237 and there was only one flight in the time we needed. Just on the Delta website it was $232 and at several different times.
We probably won't buy the airline tickets for a bit yet.... want to see how the price fluctuates, but I doubt that we'll get them for much cheaper.
And yes, it has a casino! I've never been in any kind of casino before, so it should be interesting. I'll actually be going to a casino in Niagara Falls, NY in a couple weeks.... so i'll get my gambling skillz warmed up!

Uh-oh, be careful in the casinos because they can cause trouble. But they are so much fun - you never will want to stop! :-)

I'll keep my eye out for you too and let you know if I see any great fares. I know it is a constant waiting game to see if the prices will go up or down and then trying to guess when you should buy. Have you tried signing up for travel newsletters? They get emailed to you about once a week....Orbitz has one I know...and so do the others I am sure.

Good Luck Kddani!!

I love cruises!! I"m trying to take one, but I've been on so many trips recently that I may have to pass on it. I was on the orbitz website the other day and saw a "Holiday Stress Saver Contest"-i think you have to write an essay and you can win a free trip home for the holidays and receive free hotel stay! I have so many friends that want to come home with me. This would be great to have so we'd have a place to stay after we went out partying!!

Not to thread hijack...but...

Dani, you are so lucky that your school gives you a spring break! We don't have anything of the sort. We get 2 days off for Mardi Gras and Good Friday. Add in MLK's birthday and we get a total of 4 days off the whole semester.

have fun on your cruise!
