Hey everyone,
Yesterday I got the chance to go to Emily Helen Butterfield's Dedication Ceremony in Algonac, MI. It was so awesome!!! It was a perfect day out and Suzanne Carmack Spicer and Jane Graf and a few other distinguished Alums were there for it. It was really nicely done. We also learned so much about her (MI girls, I found out that her ancestors were founders of Algonac, MI and of Sarnia, ONT!!! Also, a bunch of buildings and churches in MI that are still used today, like Highland Park HS!!). I could just feel the love and sisterhood in the air; it made me so proud to be an Alpha Gam!! I also got the chance to speak w/Suzanne Carmack Spicer; she couldn't be a nicer lady, not that I ever thought differently, but meeting her you can definately see why she was chosen to lead us!! I also got to see the famed all diamond badge up close, and WOW, thats blingy

. I also told her that I was committed to being a Distinguished Alum in 20 years and she said to me "I'll remember that. It sure would be nice to see the first woman President be an Alpha Gam!", so now I definately have to stick to it! It was just so nice to come together and learn so much and see so many amazing women together to honor a woman that I try everyday to live up to the standards of! Oh....and I also got to see a picture that Jennie Titus Smith Morris's daughter sent to IHQ that is of her wearing the first ever Alpha Gam badge! It was breathtaking! I'm so glad I got to go and as a new alumna, it was great to be welcomed w/open arms as I step into my new life as an Alpha Gam!
