Beautillions

Brothers,

Does your chapter have a Beautillion Program? Do you know of other chapters that do? What do you think of them? Are they helpful to those you serve? Do you think they serve enough people? Do you think that Beautillions, Cotillions, and Debutante Balls are relevant nowadays?

Other fraternities and sororities feel free to chime in.....I will post my opinion later...that is, if anyone feels strongly about the topic, lol.

My chapter is doing a joint Beautillion with the Local AKA chapter. I must say the Beautillion itself is black tie but the subtance takes place in the pre workshops of rites of passage programs that we have. They are able to reach out to the young people and give them life skills. So in essence as long as a relevant training program is taking place I still see Beautillions/Cotillions as a useful tool.

My alumnae chapter will be having its 17th annual Beautillion-Cotillion this fall. Our scedule of events include etiquette workshops, social activities, public service activities as well as a very good Rights of Passage program.
