U of H Results

Hey everyone! I just got word that U of H had a very successful rush! It's our first year with housing, and so far, I know that DG took quota...I'm trying to get specifics for the other chapters (DZ, ZTA, AXO, XO, and Phi Mu). I've got a great pic of our girls, but I'm not sure how to put it on her! It always just puts the link!

I have numbers,well qoute (11)was met by AXO,XO,DG,DZ, and ZTA.Unfortunatley Phi Mu did not make qoute. All the girls that were going through rush were all of quality and no sororities lost out.I am soo happy we got our top choices of girls as well..Yay!! Go Chi-O!!

I thought it was funny how us,DZ,and ZTA all had the same bid night theme(Hawaii)..You definitley couldnt miss us..we had highlighter colors on,lol.

Congratulations to all U of H's sororities and their new members!!

You have five groups and quota was 11. I would have thought UH had larger numbers of PNMs going through. Is that low for y'all? What is total at your campus?

We actually have SIX NPC sororities! Quota is usually closer to 18, but it fluctuates. UofH is a big-time commuter school, and getting women involved has always been a challenge...well not always...just ask justamom! We JUST got official Greek Housing this year, and hope that it will boost the chapter numbers and make Greek Life more visible. For being so small, we have great sisterhoods and great panhellenic spirit for each other! It's a super environment!

I am happy for everyone!

Especially DZ, since that is our 40th year in a row to take quota!

But what is up with SUCH a LOW quota?

Last year it was like 21 or something...

I thought that this year it would be around 30-ish, especially with the new housing. So now I am confused

I am thinking that the novelty of new housing might have overshadowed a need for major advertisement of rush. I was VP of Panhellenic at UH 3 years ago and we had to bust our butts to get the word out (I think quota was like 19 that year). You have to push the idea SO MUCH to get good numbers going through.

Anyway, I see good things in the future and since all chapters typically rush in the spring, I am betting that Spring rush will take more girls than fall this year! (I was in a Spring class of 12 girls!).

I think you are absolutely right about the lack of publicity. I know that DG was SO involved with getting the house put together that 'getting the word out' might have taken a back seat. I was hoping, although I didn't expect, to have a super turn-out the first time around. UH really needs to make more efforts to help recruitment. I know that when I was there (which HAD to be the same time you were...I wonder if I know you!) The sororities did all the word-of-mouth for publicity!
