PSYCHO Impersonator on the loose
Okay, so this is random, but I am just so frustrated...
I was instant messenger last week and my college boyfriend IMs me--hadn't spoken to the guy in months. Anyhow, after some small talk, he gets confused b/c I keep asking questions that he thinks I should already know the answers to...b/c according to him, we have been emailing for the past few weeks! Only, we haven't because someone has set up a hotmail account under my name but using a different address in order to talk to him!!!
Basically someone has been pretending to be me in order to talk to my ex-boyfriend.... No ideas on who this could be, but it freaks me out. Just had to share that--anyone EVER have something like this happen to them????
(The worst part was reading these emails sent to him--he forwarded them to me. The imposter was totally flirty and it just made my stomach drop seeing as I am married now and have absolutely no interest in rekindling anything!)

WoW! That's pathetic! Any idea who this person could be? Did you have an exfriend who'd want to mess things up with you and your new life?

OMG what a horrible thing for someone to do. I would like it would be an ex friend or someone that could be upset with you or something. That is just so immature it sickens me that someone woulddo that to you and to him also. grrr.
Nichole
*Edited cause I cant seem to type my own name*

Whoever is doing this is very disturbed. It's a good thing that your ex has forwarded those emails. Save them either in a folder in your email account or print them out and keep them in a safe place. This should be reported to your ISP or email provider and send them proof asap. What a sicko!

I have this friend who is a little psychotic and does the same thing. What she does is set up Email accounts in the name of her ex-bf. She Emails his ex-gf from like high school just to mess with her and find out things about him. The poor girl is a ZTA at UGA and a friend of mine from high school...the guy is actually my childhood best friend. I actually told her once that my other friend was calling her and hanging up, etc, but she hasn't figured out that it's the same girl Emailing her yet.
And I want to say that I think it's some sort of crime to impersonate people on the internet...not sure, but I think so.

Not the same kind of thing but when I was living in DC, I had not told anyone I was moving to Atlanta yet except a few of my co workers. I went on vacation for the weekend and took Friday off and when I came back, I had all these emails from my friends in DC asking me when I was leaving, why I was moving to Atlanta, was I okay. I had no idea how they knew till I went back through my out box and found an email sent at noon on FRIDAY(when I wasn't even in the office) to everyone in my address book telling them I was moving to Atlanta because I hated DC and all of this other stuff about them(none of it was really mean, but it just went on and on about how much happier I would be in Atlanta). To this day, I have no idea who sent it, or anything like that. I was only at the company for another 4 weeks but I DEFINATELY had a password protecter on my email from then on!!

Ummm no...but that would be a good idea for the next time I need to spy on someone!
J/K
No ideas on who this could be? I'm pretty sure it's someone who knows that both of you are exes. I guess that can be a lot, lol. With your ex-bf's permission, I suggest that you return the favor by posing as him to her, and try to gather information that way.

My suggestion is to read the Terms of Service for the email provider from which this person emailed from, and see if it says anything about impersinations. I'd then report the person and forward the emails....

$10 says if somebody twisted the exboyfriend's arm and made him give ONE GOOD GUESS as to who it might be.... he'd be right.

I had a roommate in college that did similar things.
1. She knew my password to my hotmail account and would email all kinds of people from it, including exes and old friends I didn't talk to any longer. She would delete emails from my family and current friends. She was pretty weird about it. She and her boyfriend got kicks doing it cause they thought it was funny. I busted her one day cause I got an email reply and it had the original text in the body so I read it all and was appalled. I don't remember what it said now, but I changed all my passwords to everything.
2. She even went so far as to call guys I knew that she didn't or guys we were friends with and say she was me!!!!
Yeah, the entire sorority called her psycho_______ for a reason!
