just a quick question here

Hello everyone!!! Good News! Rush at Shippensburg starts this afternoon at 415!! Unfortunately, I have to work tonight so I can't make it to AOPi's first rush meeting!!! But I will be going to APhi and AST's meetings. I'm so excited...and nervous! But anyway, I had a quick question. This morning, a girl from AOPi called my house and just reminded me that their first meeting was tonight. Is it normal for a girl from each house to call and remind you or is that just something each house decides? I really liked the fact that she called. Even if she has no idea who I am right now, it made me feel like the girls WANT to get to know me. Does that make sense? Lol, I guess I'm trying to say that it's a good idea to call the girls who signed up and just let them know when the events are. It made me feel good to know that they go through the effort to call everyone. I hate the fact that I can't go tonight. AOPi is one of my top choices right now and I wish I could go. It would make a good impression...but there isn't anything I can do now. Well, I hope everyone else is having a good day!! Wish me luck!!

Um, I don't think they're supposed to call you before rush - especially not the day of. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's against the rules.

I don't see why they couldn't call if it's informal recruitment. If it's formal, that's probably against the rules.

Cheeze and crackers. Talk about taking the long way around. Shippensburg's Greek site is totally outdated and rush isn't mentioned anywhere in the calendar. I finally found an answer on Alpha Phi's national website!! (big snaps to Alpha Phi)

They have formal rush dates listed for all their chapters and Ship's is February 2004. That would mean what is going on right now is informal rush or COB. So it's OK for the AOPi's to call you. Some chapters call the women who signed up and some don't - it's purely a matter of personal preference.
