California Recall Election Blocked

From Fox News:

SAN FRANCISCO — A federal appeals court on Monday blocked the California gubernatorial recall election (search).

The court in San Francisco ruled that the vote can't proceed as scheduled -- because some of the votes would be cast using outdated punch-card (search) ballot machines.

Several candidates have been vying for Democratic Gov. Gray Davis' seat, including Republican Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, independent political commentator Arianna Huffington, Democratic Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante and Republican state Sen. Tom McClintock.

OMG! Those "outdated punch cards" are very reminiscent of the "hanging chads" during the 2000 Presidential Election.

Didn't the Supreme Court already rule on punch card ballots?

This decision is not going to hold up. Fox is already reporting that the Peoples' Advocate (one of the main groups responsible for the recall) is going to get an appeal to the supreme court within 24 hours.
