Dana, I was the RVP my senior year and let me tell you, it's the most fun and one of the most difficult offices you can hold. You have been given a huge honor because your sisters have trusted you with the responsibility. Remember a few things with any activity you do: PLAN PLAN PLAN. Organization is your best friend. Use your other chairs to help you. Your FRC is also a key player. Really concentrate on PR and philanthropy. Philanthropy events are an AWESOME way to get recognized on campus. Playdays was always a HUGE success for Zeta Chi. We also used a Dr Pepper stand during the first week of school and handed out free soda in cups that read "ADPi backs the Bears." Everyone always loved that. We also had a recruitment retreat (two day long) this year right before spirit week. It was a lot of fun and we got a lot done. Try to co sponsor a mixer or event with a sorority on campus. Last year we had a mega mixer with Chi Omega and Kappa Alpha Theta. Choose one or two that are friendly to your chapter. Our shirts said, Some People Wait a Lifetime FOr a mixer like this ( you know, like the American Idol song

) ANYWAY, another thing we tried this year was as much uniformity as possible. If we were wearing our rush shirts on Monday, everyone was required to wear khaki pants with their rush shirt. Black bottoms were required with jerseys, etc. That is a huge PR plus when someone can see a white jersey and black pants and think, "there's an ADPI!" We tried to keep rush journals as much as possible for our rush crushes and we had rush points. You could earn them by wearing letters on certain days or to certain events, by eating lunch with a rush crush, and things of that sort. We also hold a "mock fall parties" with Chi Omega every year. Since we have recruitment in the spring, we have a round every November called Fall Parties, similar to open house at other universities. I hope these are some good ideas for you. I gotta go but send me a pm if you have any questions.
Love and loyalty, Shannon
