Scholarship Program Help

Hello,

The Iota Gamma chapter is in desparate need of some ideas for a scholarship program. We have one in place but it can be vastly improved on. Can you all email me how your scholarship program works and I can pass the information on to our scholarship chair. We would really appreciate it.

I did email the Beta Rho chapter, who won the best scholarship program this year, to their official Phi Sig email set up by CO. I'm just not sure they are in session yet and haven't had a response back from them. In the meantime we want to see what other chapters also have for a scholarship program and incorporate the best ideas from those that will work at our campus.

Again, any programs would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Carolyn

ditto here.
We need scholarship help desperately. I wrote down a few ideas from LTS, but I need a more comprehensive approach to it.

i think we're doing the one from LTS as well
i don't know how to improve scholarships
i know that several of our girls re-took classes in the summer
so that they could hold offices in the fall
and be eligible to have a sapphire sister

hey!

We have a pretty decent scholarship program set up in my chapter. I have never actually seen the "improvement plan" that is set up between the MAL and scholarship chair but we have had some sisters do complete turnarounds in their school work. (like one sister went from barely having a gpa to be in college--let alone phi sig- and was pulling 4.0 semester gpa's!)
We have sister tutors, and a test bank working in our chapter. Also at the beginning of each semester we fill out "goal sheets" to our scholarship chair where we list all our classes, our gpa's, and one goal for the term. if we get the goal we get a present the next semster!!
I don't know if this is already what you all have, but my scholarship chair (who is also the MAL this year. good positions to pair up if you ask me) could give you more details if you like. Just PM me and I will send her your email address to get in contact with you!

Academic Excellence (hee hee),
Heather

Well not to brag or anything... BUT my archon said that the scholarship improvement plan that my committee and I came up with last year Received A LOT of attention at convention over the summer several national officers came up and said they really liked it and that we would've won the award if our report compliance had been high enough. If you would like to see it PM me and I will t E mail you a copy. Some positive ideas to use for rewarding High GPAs and scholarship stuff...

Have ladies bring A papers, (or proof of an a on a presentation or whatever) to meetings and we recognize them in the meeting.. (I give them Smarties candies) then at the end of the semester we have a raffle between all the people who turned in papers and the winner gets a prize.

Scholarship pearls

Missed class money jar... (put a quarter in everytime you miss class)

ours was huge and filled with pennies
we took them to kroger to get cash
we had enough to buy pizza for finals study breaks with
kind of funny

I loved the skip jar, it worked so well....but then it died out cuz the women were too embarrased when they skipped so they'd lie and we did charge $1 so they always complained it was too much...no more skip jar now.

I like the smarties idea.
