Does it really matter?
Greetings to all!
I am new to GreekChat and I just wanted to stop in and say, "Hello!" I also wanted to ask a question.
First and foremost I hope that I do not offend anyone by the question that I am going to ask. I do not mean any disrespect at all I am just curious person. If I do offend anyone by this question would you please accept my humble apology now.
Here is my question: Does it really matter what color you wear to one of your functions/events? I know that what you wear says alot but does the color?
Again I want to say sorry to all I have offended. Please forgive me, I mean no harm just a curiuos person. Thank you for your time. May the Lord bless you and keep you all. May you find the strength that you seek in HIM.

Welcome to GreekChat!
I suppose it depends on the event/function. The attire and the color(s) you may choose to wear at rush will be different from what you may wear to a party or other sorority event. I wouldn't advise wearing pink or green to rush. Personally, it doesn't bother me any other time, but not everyone feels the way I do. When in doubt, wear neutral colors and use your best judgement.

As I think we have stated before, colors are not reserved for a particular sorority or fraternity, with that said that means you can where anything you want .... HERE COMES THE BUT .... BUT If you are attending 'ANY' event for a sorority I don't think it would be in your best interest to wear 'ANY'sorority colors. In a party, or at a volunteer event, if Sorors don't know each other we recognize one another by the colors we have on. It is that simple, you can wear what you want, but would you want to go to an Alpha Kappa Alpha event wearing pink and green and you are not a member of that Organization??? Use your better judgment!
And no need to apologize, my mom always used to tell me you look sorry and know that you are wrong when you apologize ahead of time.

On the serious tip, LadyAKA is right. I would want to take the advice seriously. If I were you, I would be thinking about a conservative professional suit, such as an ensemble for a seminar or discussion event. For a "field trip" event, I would consider nice slacks and a shirt. Presentation is everything.
