Letting the cat out of the bag!! Morris Chesnut and PBS!!

My line sister and myself received an email invite to a Morris Chesnut party at the Met in downtown Houston. I was so excited by the possibility of meeting my future husband (joke) and frat brother that I paid both of our way into the VIP where he would be. When I saw him, I can say he was everything that I thought he would be EXCEPT A MEMBER OF PHI BETA SIGMA FRATERNITY, INC!!!!!!

I had gotten his attention......and I had the opportunity to ask him in person, "Are you a Sigma?" His reaction was unexpected. He said, "NO! No! I am not! They put me on the website and got me in books, but I am not a Sigma!!" At that point, needless to say I was alittle offended. Did he have to be so feverish about it? I don't know, perhaps I am just disappointed and... and..... OUTRAGED!!! Who the heck does the accuracy checks for these books "Divine Nine" and websites? Helen Keller??? What if he was asked that question on a television interview??? What is really going ON!!!
If you ever see a website with his name as a "famous Sigma" pleeeeaassee alert the web master or mistress. Morris Chesnut.........is NOT a Sigma!!!

He was probably upset b/c he is always asked that. Hey, his loss!! He's off my fine list now, though. BUSTER.. why would you NOT want to be part of Phi Beta Sigma?

jumping in just a bit...

Pretty Kitty,

How did he say it? Did it come across like"God no! I would not be one of them." or more just in a hurry to clear it up? I can understand if he doesn't want to be thought of as perping PBS (he would lose way more cool points for that)!!! or the errors have caused a lot of added drama (invites to events as a Sigma, questions, getting love when he is not in the frat, etc.) Now if it was the first response, boo on him, but the second I could understand a bit more.

Thank you soror....those were my thoughts EXACTLY! I really doubt that he was dissing PBS.

I agree with the others.

I think he was (what you perceived to be) feverish because he has been getting that question over and over again for the past years. Over the last 5 years, I've heard that he is a Sigma and I've heard that he is an Eternal Crescent. So, imagine years of people thinking you're something you're not and your having to constantly address the issue.

But, he's definitely fine...woohoo!!! Did you take pictures? If not, YOU SUCK

Well, I don't know what he was feeling or how many times he had been asked that question. All I know is that his reaction did not sit well with me. It made me offended that his name was ever associated with the greatness of Phi Beta Sigma. It also made me ashamed that so many people could be "bamboozled" so easily (including myself). It also makes me wonder about the lists published for ALL of the organizations....

This is bigger than Morris and his nasty reaction.... This is what I call a problem.

/Blair Underwood....Hold the light, baby.....

My guess is that if he is not a sigma, he probably was going through MIP for sigma, but dropped line. But Iown know. Just guessing. But at least Blair Underwood is a Sigma, with his fine self.

He still isn't as fine as Morris, though.

This is why we need to check ourselves and do our homework before we go around all willy-nilly telling people that John Doe is a Sigma or Jane Doe is a Zeta. When the truth comes out, it only makes us look weak and misinformed in the end. It is not a monumental task for someone to contact Headquarters or the chapter that a person supposedly may have cross with in order to find out if that person is actually a member.

Clean up time

I have been visiting all of the sights that I can and posting confidential replies informing frat of the truth. I encourage everyone to do the same.
