Damn I wish it had the chapter name on it! It's such a great old pin!!! I wish Int'l would buy these so these stupid collectors would leave them alone.

I think if Int'l had something like that going on, collector's would be on the look out for A-Phi pins because they know that they will be bought back, no matter what. Sellers would get friends to vote on the badge to raise the price because they know that Int'l would continue to bid to win the badge. If ever A-Phi decided to start buying all badges off of ebay, I hope it is kept a secret, as to keep what I mentioned above from happening. Of course, if we had something like that, we would be rescuing all the badges, which is definitely a good thing, but it isn't something everybody should know about.

You ladies are more than welcome. I always try to keep a look out for pins or valuable items and let the groups in on them. Such a shame that these ladies don't leave things in their wills about what should happen to their badges.
As for this one and the ladies wondering what chapter it's from.. could it be Kappa?
The seller says that the engraving says "Elise P./ Furst K
and it looks like, under the .. damn what is that thing called.. well under the THING, it looks like a giant K?

I just checked the Alumnae site and Elise P. Furst is our member's name and Kappa is the chapter name. The Kappa chapter is our closed chapter at Stanford University.
Elise was a member of the class of 1916, unfortunately, she is now a member of the silent chapter.

If you check this guy's past seller history, he seems to specialize in badges. It just upsets me that he's making a killing on things that belong to someone else.

Oh Elise why!?
Jeez I would feel so weird about buying a badge that belonged to a dead person...ugh especially if it was from a group I had nothing to do with.
Good point SATX*APhi...it could be an undercover operation...like the underground railroad - but for badges!

We shall NOT DISCUSS tyoregon and his obsession with pins - he needs to be outbid...I WILL try and bid on it when the time is right. And then it will go back to an A-Phi.

Just don't outbid another A Phi. I was the highest bidder on this item for a while and was planning on repurchasing it to donate to the office.
LD
PS: tyoregon's a phi purchases go to his daughter who is an alpha phi. he does not keep them himself.

Well what's this girls deal, she should consider donating them to the office if she cares about A Phi so much.

Will
This man's daughter DOES have a stipulation in her will that upon her death her collection will go back to A-Phi. She has been to EO and shown the collection to the appropriate people - lives outside of Chicago....She has been given MANY unique pieces from her father...And I promise not to outbid an A-Phi...

We've discussed this man before.
And, I think what is most frustrating is that there are other people -- other Alpha Phis! -- who would like to own something unique too.
He seemingly has enough money to outbid just about everyone. I can certainly understand our Alpha Phi sisters' frustration with him.

He had, a long time ago, e-mailed me about this very thing (the money issue and having other Alpha Phi's own a part of their heritage and that so many cannot afford his bids)...and it was NOT a very nice e-mail either . I was insulted and threatened over this issue by him. Sad to say the least. Enough said on the subject.
We shall see what happens.
