Recruitment from my side!

We started our rush school today! It was so exciting! I have heard that some of the other houses on the row have had problems so we have such a great position this year!

chloe173,
I'm always happy to read more about recruitment, and especially its especially nice coming from another ADPi!
I'm so sorry to hear about the problems some of the other chapters are having on your campus. The thing about being in an NPC group is that you learn trouble for one is trouble for all, we're all connected. Therefore I hope these difficulties give the remaining sisters opportunities to rise to the occasion and make their houses even stronger. It sounds as if your campus is going to have a ton of women going through recruitment, hopefully all the NPC orgs will attract motivated, intelligent new sisters.
Does your chapter give "back to campus" or "good luck with recruitment" gifts to the other chapters? It was one of the nice things my chapter used to do. We also used to put anonymous "good luck" ads in the personals section of our college paper all about the other chapters on campus. It was fun writing each ad so that each one was different and spoke to the strengths of each NPC chapter.
Okay, I can seriously go one forever about rush memories...I just absolutely adored college rush. So enough about me, I can't wait to read about your recruitment experiences.

I didn't think you sound happy about there misfortune, but happy about you luck.

40% from Texas, that crazy. But that will give you an edge over some.

It mustbe so nice to have a work week. we don't have one because we don't have a house. We go on a retreat for 3 days instead and we crame everything into the 3 days. It sounds like your having so much fun. Good luck with Recruitment.

Chloe that is SOO weird that you have 40% women from texas... I didn't think USC attracted that many out of staters.. most of the people I know who go there are Cali natives... your house must look GORGEOUS I really liked it a lot before.. but roses must make such a homey touch !! USC's greek row has always been a source of awe for me coming from a school with no houses when I went to parties and stuff down there and walked down the row it always made me sooo jealous !!

I think that the slant in numbers from Texas can be attributed to two things. First, women from Texas tend to register at USC early (they tend to plan on rushing from the start). Second, not all of USC's mailers have gone out yet. One of the ways USC has raised its admissions criteria in the past few years is by taking stronger out of state students. If I had to guess I'd say for the past few years we've typically sees about 50% of the Rushees be from out of state.

I think that having the pref party and bid day on the same day is great. Then you don't have to wait longer, adn the girls are not freaking out and they are still excited over the pref party.

I am glad that you love your new house mom.

ok little off topic.. but I just have to say Cheesecake factory is one of my favorite places to eat !! but I don't go very often because the one near me is downtown and you have to pay to park... but it's on top of Macy's and over looks union square... VERY nice

Chloe, your rush-prep posts are really interesting!! I'm wondering how many pnms realize how much hard work goes into a recruitment? I just wish I had some solid news about anyone rushing at USC!
