Re: Help?
LOL. I'm over here struggling too. I know I love them to death, but right now, I'm having a really hard time saying anything nice. Wait, I know..... I'll list why I love my father (who happens to be a black man ).
1. Gives unconditional love.
2. Supports me in all that I do.
3. Loyal to everyone around him.
4. Hard worker/provider.
5. Has strong dedication to family.
6. Great role model.
7. Makes barbecue like no other (LOL).
8. Never gives up until he gets what he wants.
9. Always gives good advice.
10. Still treats me like his baby girl even though I'm a grown ass woman.

I love a BLACK MAN'S
*SMELL
*VOICE (the deeper the better)
*WALK
*way he looks in a suit
*Black Man's SEX APPEAL
I found this and thought it fit well here:
Phenomenal Man
From 100% black stallion to vanilla ice cream cone,
the phonomenal black woman shall not bear the throne alone.
There's a new stranger in town that has society on a roll.
Lookout! It's the phenomenal man who's rising and taking control.
It's the suave motion in his walk that you ladies mistook for a twist.
A phenomenal man he is 'Cause he's there at your every wish.
It's the diploma or that degree you mistook for a crack pipe,
erasing the wounds of a bitter history and adding the soothes of a clean wipe.
ARE BLACK MALES EXTINCT?
In this society that's a lie 'cause in every city in our world
black phenomenal men shall rise.
From Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity,
to the brothers of Omega Psi Phi,
from the peace of Phi Beta Sigma,
to the canes of Kappa Alpha Psi,
to the pride of Texas A&M, from the rugged streets of Crenshaw
to the rugged streets of Harlem.
Phenomenal men roam God's green Earth so ladies look as you wish.
You may cross over to other races but black is always the main dish.
Phenomenal men are making a comeback, Just wait and see.
From being the white man's burden to being a black man with a degree.
It's the broad shoulders on his body that support a level head.
Extinct? I think not!!
Phenomenal men are never dead. It's the boom in his voice,
the piercing glare in his eyes. It's the persistent motion of his success
'cause phenamenal men are determined to rise.
There's a new stranger in town that has society on a roll.
Lookout ladies! It's the phenomenal man,
there to help you rise and take control!
From the plantation to the corporation, phenomenal men show their faces.
From purgatory to the laboratory, phenomenal men come in all races.
But it's the black phenomenal man that's triumphing over all.
Rising from the word "colored" that was printed on the wall.
As God as my witness, we black men shall prevail.
Making a mighty grand entrance in which everyone shall hail.
There's a new stranger in town that has society on a roll.
Stand up and give props to the black phenomenal man,
here to rise and take control.

See. I thought about doing my father. Then, I got stuck again. This year marks the 20th anniversary of his death (so I really hadn't thought about the qualities he possessed. HOWEVER, I guess it's 'for me' to not forget what IT was about him that made me love him. Some of the things you mentioned, I have to ditto, except number 10.
I'll add: his quick wit. My mother tells me, I'm just like him in that area.

As a newlywed, I am full of reasons to love a black man right now. So, here's my list
- the way he looks at me and makes me feel beautiful
The way they are able to deal with the racism and obstacles in the world and still come home and make me feel like a million dollars
They are so prideful, it's hard to break them
They come in so many beautiful shades
When they love, they love hard
They know just what to say when you look a mess to make you feel better
Oh goodness, I sound like someone who's in love...oh wait, I am...I am just giddy with excitement and love for black men right now. I just love the way we love each other. He understands my family and the way we do things. He knows how to tell when I am upset, sad, or just need some attention, whether we are on the phone or in person.
Ooooh, let me stop. I just love my man!!

6. The natural clean smell his emits
5. The way he moves on the dance floor
4. His smile
3. His intelligence
2. His determination
1. His love for God, family, and the earth

I Love Black Men because they are...
* willing to "wow out" for their women
* intelligent (some of them)
* willing to hustle for the family
* protective
* respectable (some of them)
* beautifully structured (some of them)

First I must say that I am so suprised that this thread isn't longer! I know each and every one of us has been "through it" with at least one guy who didn't have any "ack right" in him.
But, they're not all like that... I think... I hope... I pray!
So, I'm thinking positively! Here are the things I love about black men. I'm just upset that I can't find all of these qualities in the same man!
1. Understands when I come home from corporate America and vent about "them."
2. Thinks nothing is sexier that my voluptuous frame and is able to,... ahem... handle the curves better than a BMW.
3. Loves my cooking and appreciates the love I put into each bite.
4. Loves his mother to death. If a man treats the woman who carried him for 40 weeks, clothed, fed and loved him since forever, how do you think he'll treat you?
5. Makes me feels cute and petite even though I'm nearly 5' 9" and weigh 155-160.
6. Knows just what to say to make me laugh.
7. Knows what "ashy" is and knows how to remedy it.
8. Gives the best massages in the world.
9. Can swap stories with me about childhood and laugh hysterically.
10. Supports my dreams and aspirations as he realizes his own.
*Sigh* Ladies, I love black men... My DP got married this past Saturday and it was so beautiful to see two people who love one another so much. I cried like it was my wedding or something! One day, right?
Blessings
