Theta Iota Rush 2003

Hey ladies, I thought I would go ahead and make a thread since I am heading down tonight and already have some info.
There are 7 sororities at WKU- AGD, ADPi, AOPi, XO, KD, SK, and PM
SO I will go ahead and post what I know for a fact!
First night of rush was last night. Things went well, and the girls going through are saying nice things about AGD. They think we are sweet and nice. That kind of stuff. no real negatives!

BTW I haven't been breaking any rules- panhellenic members talk to the sorority recruitment people and since we have some bigger up people I am sure they are talking to them. This is what the recruitment chairs have been sharing with one another. One of my friends is an ADPi alum and she told me about some stuff but I don't want to post it because I don't know it for fact. If you want to know PM me and I will tell you at certain discretions. I am not going to gosspi!

Overall things look great for tonight! I am heading down there myself tonight and then coming back tonight so I can work tomorrow and come back tomorrow night and stay through bid day (SUNDAY). There are some girls that are not going through formally but want to COB AGD already, that is awesome!

Oh, and as for what we are wearing-
First rounds (Getting to Know You/House Tours) Black capris and letter shirts with black sandals.
Second rounds (Theme/Skit) - Denim Skirts, black or white 3/4 length button down shirts
Preference- Red dresses handmade (Alums are wearing black suits or black dresses I think)
Bid day- Khaki Shorts and bid day shirts!

Sarah and TI, good luck... I was just talking about you all at work today (one benefit of working at your alummater (?) still). I work with two other AGDs, 1 Phi Mu, and 1 EK... anyway we were talking about last years WKU rush and whether or not AGD and EK had sent some sisters down to help. ANYWAY... we all just hope that everything goes great and that all PNMs and Sisters find the most perfect new sisters.

I had grand plans for coming and visiting and seeing how RUSH works other than GTown style but life got really busy here for me this week (new job starting next week, new puppy still biting everything, sick baby(I mean boyfriend) ha ha ha... busy busy busy....

But best of luck and I know everything will be just awesome! I look forward to reading more in this thread and in the RUSH thread.

Okay- I am so tired!! I got back at 20 til 2 last night- but I met Marissa in person!! HEHE!

Anyway, tonight was the 2nd night of 1st rounds. Everything went off without a hitch, although there was one minor problem. A Pi Chi group showed up REALLY Late and missed the vans (the drivers were told that there were no other groups coming, and that was it) so they had to be walked to the house- that was bad- but just a misunderstanding by a panhellenic member. Anyway, I got to ride in the vans some and floated around and talked to a few girls. There are some real quality women going through. We were also shocked at how good the grades are on these women, there are usually a lot more that have bad grades, but these are intelligent women!!! Anyway, I had a ball! I hope the rushees did too! I met one girl who told me she felt really at home around our chapter because we were so easy to talk to! I liked hearing that! I finished the night by having 11 pizzas delivered for the girls. They were exhausted and tired! But overall really happy.

So today is theme- we put on a skit- I will have to wait and see what returns are going to be. I am excited and nervous and all.

So if I can get on tonight I will and I will post about theme!

whew - i just got home! i could only stay up in bowling green for two days worth of rush. i'm soooooooo rooting for them though - i think they're gonna have an awesome pref! and hey - i got to meet sarah too!

ps - oh yah! i got around to talking to the chapter advisor and i'm going to take on the advisor position for VPO! i've really been hurting this past year and a half without a chapter and i think that this will be an unbelievably great way to get myself involved!

Yea! Another VPO Advisor!! That' makes 3 of us GCer's that I know of!!

The TI's I met were awesome! I know you'll have lots of fun!

Well preference is over- theme went really well, I hadn't seen this one, but it was funny! I enjoyed it- we had good returns, too!!!
Preference was good, and our LC Kate is really sweet. I am waiting until tomorrow to find out what we get for a pledge class but I have my fingers crossed and I think we did well! Updates later!

I love Katy. She she's a great LC. She has been so determined to help Theta Iota succeed. I can't wait to hear the results.
