A Night at the Movies... NHL style

Vancouver's giant movie complexes are now showing pay per view Canucks games. You go to the movie theatre, pay $9 and sit and watch the game on the big screen.

I went last night to watch the Canucks-Kings game and it was a lot of fun. At first it was weird watching the game on such a huge screen, but you get used to it.

Normally we go to sports bars if the game isn't on TV, but watching it in the movie theatre was such a cool experience.

Is this available in any other Canadian city or in the US?

Wink

Wow.

I hear that there are plans for AMC theaters to introduce their own new Pay-per-view concept, to rival the NHL games.

It's called, "Watching Paint Dry".

And yes, for 8 bucks, you can sit and watch various shades of latex and non-latex paint dry on various funiture. Guranteed to be as much of an insomnia cure as the NHL.

I suppose you would rather watch a football game?

On topic though, The Toronto Roadrunners were thinking of showing leaf games on their big screen/scoreboard after Roadrunners games for free on saturday nights to get people to come out and watch the Roadrunner play. I don't know if they're doing that or not, but they probably should, the Roadrunners are in last place and I don't know if they're getting too many fans out.

I've never heard of such a thing here in the Chicago area, but it sounds like it would be fun!

Of course, our hockey team is doing everything it can to LOSE fans, but we won't go there...
