some pj's should stay inside
at work today, an employee stopped by to pick up her paycheck. she said that she just woke up. i look at her clothes to find that she is wearing this tank top that was two sizes too small and a little pair of pajama shorts that were partly made of lace. this shorts were so small that i actually though she was wearing those tangas. i was thinking 'what the hell?!'
i mean honestly i work at starbucks not the victoria's secret corporate office. now dont get me wrong, i have customers come in with their pj's. (like this one girl came in with silk drawstring cargos and an adorable tank top) sometimes its alright. but when we people have to wonder if you sometimes wear those shorts as underwear, something's wrong.
do any of you guys wear your pj's out? the only time i really do is when i am picking up breakfast from the burger king drive thru or something. (when i dont have to get out of the car)

When I worked at Bloomingdale's, we had a lot of tourists who would come into the store. Europeans have a much different style of clothing than Americans. They're also not as conservative as the Americans.
There was a couple from Belgium who came into the store. The guy was dressed normally. The woman had on a pair of cut off shorts and a BRA. Just the shorts and bra!!!! Everyone in the store kept staring at her. Little kids were pointing. And, this wasn't your fully covered bra. It was this little lacy number.

A lot of people at school wear pjs to brunch on the weekend which is ok i think to an extent. I think the obvious pjs, like huge flannel plaid pants, should stay inside but a simple solid colored pant/short is ok. Coming into work or being out at a nice dept. store one should be a bit more covered up than what has been posted.

I've run out to get a paper or whatever in a tank and pj pants...but not in boyshorts. I'll throw sweats over those before going out.

See, school's different, though. How many times did you go to 8 AMs and see half the kids there in some form of pajamas?
There's kind of "show" pajamas. You know. The ones you'll wear to a sorority rush retreat and then the ones you'd be embarassed if someone stopped by and you were wearing. i.e. your matching cute so-incredibly-soft pants & top and then the stained too-tight tank top from 8th grade and your ex-boyfriend's dont-stay-on-cause-they're-too-big boxers. Not the same.
That said, I have a pair of velvet pajama pants I got when I was in the 9th grade. (I'm 22 now.) My dad said once that he was so happy to see me in them, because he can *see* me relax when I put them on. BUT -- no one outside the immediate family has ever seen these velvet pajama pants. Not even the boyfriend of a year and a half. Heard rumor of them, yes. Seen them, no.
Kinda like letting a guy see you with curlers in your hair, don't you think?

Stan made me laugh. I went to the beach with a guy I'm interested in and he wouldn't take his shirt off, either (although I suspect it was more an issue of hair than of weight. Couldn't say, though.) Any ideas on how to make him more comfortable? I'm not exactly a Victoria's Secret model, but I take my clothes off at the beach. (before you say anything, assume a swimsuit underneath, Tom.) I don't think I'd enjoy the beach much fully clothed...

I think Juicy sweatsuits or sweatpants with your letters on them are okay to wear out, as are black stretch yoga pants. (for girls, anyway)
I HATE seeing like plaid PJ pants worn out in public... those should be confined to the house!!!

I don't usually leave the house in PJs, but if I'm heading out somewhere really early I'm okay with my OR scrubs and a tank top. I wouldn't ever DREAM of walking out my front door in what I just slept in though!
If I'm on my way to an early morning colorguard practice or a rehearsal for a show I've been known to stop and get a bottle of water or fill my gas tank in "practice clothes" (aka: cute printed pajama pants, t-shirt, socks, shower sandals etc.)
I'd never go pick up a paycheck like that though! Jeans are just as easy to put on as PJ pants. I can't leave the house without showering...ugh. Rolling out of bed and leaving is NOT an option...
