Countdown to Conclave
Ok Guys...
As Conclave nears, It would be great to know who's going and what are you most looking forward to at Conclave.
For me, i'm my chapter's delegate so it should be interesting to room with 3 other delegates that i've never met before. I am also looking forward to the election of the new SEC, and the model initiation.

Unfortunately, i'm unable to attend conclave this year. However, I am extremely interested in the election of the new SEC - whether or not Kevin Kaplan will be sent up to the WGM slot as is tradition, and Kaplan's new plan for the future of Kappa Sigma, which is supposed to fulfill Jackson's dream. From what I understand, this involves creating the "50 man Chapter" - each chapter will have to have 50 men or be the biggest on campus, and if not after two years, will face mandatory rush seminars paid for by the chapter.
This is extremely controversial and it will be interesting to see how it plays out.
I hope all chapter delegates will remember the keywords of their pledgeship, and use Diligence and Commitment in their decisions. After all, this is Kappa Sigma's finest hour.

It will indeed be an interesting Conclave - I can't attend, but I went to the last one in Memphis.
There was supposed to be a great deal of talk about the Memorial Foundation and the question of who owned IMH, but when all was said and done there wasn't really any conflict at Conclave.
It was a fun time - as a delegate it was good to be rooming with guys from other chapters from other parts of the country, and seeing how different chapters did things differently. I was the only undergrad from my chapter to make the trip, which was a bit tough, but I still met up with groups at night, and it ended up being a fun time.
If you get to go - it's worth the trip.

Ok, I'm dating a Kappa Sig and he's going to Conclave and he's been ranting and raving about it and being in a sorority, I know you can't give some stuff away, but do they get to do stuff outside of Conclave or is it mostly all spent with other Kappa Sigs? And I hope you guys that are going get to meet the AMAZING guys from Kappa Sig at Indiana University, they definately set the standard when it comes to men.

LOL, Glad you like us Would you like all of them so much if he ends up bing mean to you? Justa random questions
Uhm, talking to girls I know that have gone to convention, national sororities deliberately plan their schedule to give their delegates literally no time to have fun outside of the convention. Do they give you guys a curfew or have boy-in-room-rules lol?
Our convention is much more lax, when I left a few years ago, me and the presidents of several different chapters were having beers in the pool .. . I walked out of the pool and straight to the cab taking me to the plane.
Also, sessions usually end early so we can go out and play.

heh yes, i would still like all of them and talk highly of them even if he was being mean to me, which he would never do, or if i wasn't dating a kappa sig. Kappa Sigs here are the types of boys that girls want to bring home to their mothers

You get plenty of time to yourself at night to go out and do whatever you want - during the day time is tied up with Kappa Sig stuff, but at night you can go out on the town and have fun with whoever you want.

Conclave
Hello Brothers,
I hope that everyone is excited about coing to Tampa for Conclave. Me and some of the other Brothers in the Tampa Area work at a Night Club and were curious as to how many of our fellow Brethren would be Intrested in having a get together there. We would supply the club and $2 Wells all night long to all Kappa Sigma's and guest. The target Date we are shooting for is Aug. 2 (Sat.) since closing banquet is usually on that Sunday. If i could get some feedback, to see how many ppl. would be intrested that would be great.

I'm guessing most of the guys would be interested - $2 well drinks are a hell of a deal, and I don't know too many people who would turn it down.
I don't know any other way to estimate response, other than to mention something the first night of Conclave - but I'd be surprised if you didn't have a great turnout for your place.

So, how was it? What went on, who are the new SEC members, any big news? I just talked to my chapter's delegate to find out how our chapter did in awards, but didn't hear anything else.

My chapter just got home last night, and i'm still exhausted....
Conclave was awesome!!! I got to meet and make great new friendships with Brothers from as far away as North Dakota. My chapter picked up 11 awards. We voted on the new SEC which will be led by Kevin Kaplan. I'm nodding off writing this, so just pm me guys for the news or specifics.
