Lightbulb Bedroom Paint Colors

Hey Guys....I need help with something...
I am moving into a new sorority house and I need to pick a color for my bedroom...but I am so indecisisve and I know that the colors shown on the samples dont always look that way on the wall....does anyone have the specific names of colors that worked great for them...the colors i am thinking of are either light/olive green (what bedding goes with that?) , lilac with maroon bedding, or baby blue. Also, has anyone ragged their walls? I am considering doing that and I wonder how it looks. Thanks guys

My room at home is painted a Sherwin Williams color called Rhinestone. It's a blueish-greyish-whiteish-lavenderish color.

To me, I see it as a super-pale blue. It goes really well with the white trim and my ecru bedding.

It also looks really good with lavender bedding.

Oooooooh I would like to paint my room in a color called Rhinestone... that sounds so wondefully rock-and-roll! It sounds awfully pretty too.

I like bright colors on walls... right now I wish my walls were painted a nice palm green, somewhere between mint and lime. I would also like to paint my room hot pink but well... most people wouldn't be into that

I am with you on the hot pink!!! I'd love to have a hot pink room, I'd even settle for baby pink. But no such luck, we can't paint our rooms in the stupid house or annex, so I am stuck with the mauve color they're painted now.

I can't help ya on room colors but ragging the wall....errrr, lots of work and it reminds me of home decoure from the early 90s (similar to sponge painting but more condensed). If I were you I'd head to Lowes or Home Depot where they sometimes offer free classes on painting techniques...
I recommend this because I tried to crackle paint a dresser and simply following the instructions was not enough...and I didn't get the finish I wanted.

So, with that said, go check out the free classes (I think they're in the mornings on like Saturdays) and find out for sure HOW to do what you want and maybe see if you really like it.

I think a cream color bedding would go great with either light or olive green. Lilac could go really well with baby blue or maroon. I don't know a thing about ragging the walls, but I agree with Hootie on taking a class on painting techniques at your local Lowe's or Home Depot. Good luck with the room!

I didn't rag my walls, but Ralph Lauren has some 'paint techniques', which I used- I did the 'linean technique', there is also leather, deniem, and ummm, i can't remember the 4th. i recomend them- you can get the paint at home depot

Here is a website with tips for choosing paint color. Good luck! I loved my light pink bedroom with white bedding when I was younger.
