Met a sister!!
This is SO EXCITING!!!!
Those of you who know me have a pretty good idea that I am politically active. So Friday I was at the Board of Elections to support a city councilwoman who is filing for re-election. The mayor and several members of his staff are there. I go over to speak with some of them that I had met on a trip to DC in December. One of the ladies looks at my quill and asks if I am an Alpha Xi. I say yes, are you? She gets all happy and says- Yes, we're sisters!!! I get a big hug right there in the BoE. At lunch she introduced me to everyone as her sorority sister, and that started a chain of which sorority each lady is in. I met a Pi Phi, AXO, and several ladies who have daughters in orgs.
It turns out that this lady was initiated into a Pennsylvania chapter (I forget which one) in '62. She didn't know we have an alum association or a chapter here. I will tap her skills (she's an event planner for two campaigns) to help us plan Formal and other events.
The moral here is: ALWAYS wear your pin (or other insignia) because you never know when a lost sister is nearby.
