Most interesting Paddles
I was just wondering what type of creative paddles you've seen. I got mine from my little brother tonight, and he's very artistic so I'd had very high expectations, but never had I thought he would do what he did....
he recreated a scene from a Van Gogh painting, and it is brilliant.
The one I had made for my big was the most different until then with it all painted and "In Hoc ...." running along the side.
I've also seen an oar before for the "paddle" which was funny, but neat.
Nevertheless, what are some of the most creative you've seen?

I saw on in the shape of a foot. The one I made for my big had two knights helmets, a bigger one for him by his name and a smaller one for me by my name because he was big and I was the little. Hopefully, I'll get a little brother next semester and can make him one with family colors and Military Red and White

I made my big a frog on a lilypad paddle. I knew she wanted a frog, and I was torn between a traditional paddle with a frogy handle, or the ugly frog they had at the greek shop. I finally decided on neither of them, and had a custom cut frog done for her. It took forever to paint, but it was so worth it. It was defintely the best paddle from anyone in my pledge class, and pretty damn close to the best paddle in the chapter.

Both of my lil's are art majors, but the 2nd paddle that I got was really cute, I liek glitter and start and she took the whole paddle and spraypainted it with silver glitter, and put bordeaus ribbon around the handle. Oh, and it was one of the paddles with a picture frame in it, so she put a pic of us. oooh, and there is a single forget-me-not on the bordeaux bow. It's cute. But, I am sure the guys don't care about that glittery stuff...
So, the Delta Chi house around here has the sweetest paddles. One of then is in the shape of a playboy bunny, and my boyfriends pledge class made their paddle into that girl who is sort of lying down, I guess it's for a soccer brand or something. But it's pretty cool.

There are some interesting paddles floating around here..
TKE:
TKE209 has as oar that made its way into being a paddle, lol! It's about 5 feet long with red TKE letters on the wide part, w/some of family tree on the back of it. (He is NOT allowed to pass this one down! lol!)
One of the guys made their pledge class paddles w/the paddle part covered in furry cow print! Gotta love it
ZOX:
They have a pledge paddle in the shape of a giant key, pretty neat looking.
PiSig(now gone): They had a paddle that had a built in bong. And you wonder why they are no more, eh?

My pledge class (new member class, I know ) made the girliest paddles ever. In my chapter we make them for each class, and one gets hung in our living room and each sister also gets one. Ours was a traditional paddle shape except for the handle, which we cut into a crescent moon. We painted the moon yellow and the paddle lavender, then wrote our names with white paint and had pearls by each name. There's also carnations on there somewhere (my paddle is packed right now). It's so cute.

We don't decorate paddles, because it softens the blow when we use 'em

At Region Day a couple years ago, another chapter brought a turtle-shaped paddle. It was the greatest thing, and I wanted one so bad but I never could find one! I'm about to go get the saw out and see what I can do...
The biggest paddles I ever saw were the ones the SAE's used to give us. If you stood one on the floor, it would come almost up to your shoulder. That might not be big by other people's standards, but up until then the only paddles I had ever seen were just the regular kind you can order from the Greek Store.
