Hey sweetchicky,
I don't know exactly how it all works at the school you are transferring to but first off let me tell you that going through rush to meet people is a really good idea. Thats what I did. But basically at UCF its kind of a mutual decision. Each day you attend a certain amount of parties and at the end of the day you rank them on if you would like to go back to that house. At the same time the houses are ranking girls too. The next day you see who you got invites back from. You may not be going to a house that you really liked and you may be going that you ranked lower. Anyways the last day before bid day is preffs. That is the top few houses that you would like to join. And from those few you make your final decision. Preffs is also a formal event. The next day is bid day and you get to see who offered you a bid to join. Well I hope that helps and Good luck.

Thanks!
I did not expect such quick replies so thank you so much...ok I am already getting addicted to this site!! There are so many funny stories etc. I understand a little better about recruitment processes but it still seems a little confusing. I guess it will all come into place. BTW, I am going to Eastern Kentucky University.
Thanks to all the wonderful, sweet and helpful people who replied!!!
Thank You

Just thought of something else
I just thought of another question I have...
Is it possible to get more than one bid?
If so, how long do you have to decide wether to accept?
Much Love

sweetchicky,
Best of luck with Recruitment!!!
I transferred schools also, and going Greek at my new school was the best decision I have made since I got here! It is an awesome way to meet people on your campus.
Again, best of luck with recruitment!! I hope you have an awesome experience!

If you go through formal recruitment then you'll only receive one bid. See threads on bid matching. After PNMs attend preference parties they sign preference cards which indicate which of the sororities they would accept a bid from. Theoretically you can put down on your preference card any chapter on campus, practically you'd only list chapters where you attended preference. Panhellenic then matchs the bids and on bid day, if you match, you receive one bid.
If you participate in COB or informal recruitment then it may be possible to receive more than one bid.
Good luck to you
BTW ..
My mother and father are EKU graduates from the 1940s.

More informational reading...
sweetchicky- After reading the Recruitment FAQ, I would suggest doing a search on Southern rushes in this thread. While I don't believe there have been any threads specific to EKU, you might pick up some hints that will help you out. Southern rush is a whole different animal from the North.
Good luck! I hope that you stick around to share your rush story with us, and welcome to GC!
