O.A.R. has been around for awhile and I have really enjoyed listening to their music through the year BUT it just seems to me that they are trying to hard. Even before anyone knew who they were, you could go to any college campus and hear them..they have been popular with kids for years and for them to act like they are the "newest thing" is really lame. A new label, a new sound and now a trip..gimme a break!! They are selling out and losing my support as they continue to grow...
Bottom line: Money talks and bullsh*t walks....selling out for sure!

selling out? hardly...i highly doubt someone who was "selling out" would take the time out of their oh so busy celebrity rockstar schedule to take the time to post messages on their fan messageboard to thank their fans for their support..do you have any idea how long it took them to make the decision to sign with lava so they wouldn't be selling their souls over to a record label and would still be able to maintain their creative integrity. are they gaining a larger fanbase? yes. are they getting radio airplay and talkshow guestspots? yes..but thats what any musician truely wants..to spread their music and their message..
bottom line is..the people that are labeling them as sellouts are the ones who are selling them out..you are so fast to label and dismiss them as sellouts based on the fact that they are evolving and gaining popularity..there is no factual evidence to your claims.
they work their asses off and deserve every bit of success that comes their way.
and just as a sidenote - the trip was planned for last years spring break as well, but for whatever reason was canceled.. so thats defintely not a "lets profit off of our newfound success" ploy.
