Fashion advice, please!

I'm going to SAI's national convention at the end of the month. I've been told by everyone that dress is "business casual" or "pin attire" or "business clothes". I have a very cute Ralph Lauren polo dress, but is this too casual? It seems like it would be. But I don't have but a few dressy things and the things I have are for concerts I play in, and are too dressy for just the daily meetings, etc, and it's a 5 day convention. I'm trying to see what I have in my wardrobe that will work.

Also, it's in Dearborn Michigan. How is the weather there? Any suggestions for clothes? I'm used to sticky, humid, horrible Arkansas summers but I know Michigan is different.

Thanks in advance!

Well, I'm not an SAI, but I'll chime in.

If your convention is anything like ours was... that dress should be fine. I think their main goal is that they don't want anyone showing up in jeans, shorts, sneakers, etc. Your dress sounds cute and comfortable... go for it!

Ginger, it wasn't just directed at SAIs, so thanks for your reply.

Your Polo dress is fine. Be sure to bring a sweater - those big ballrooms where we have our meetings get COLD!

yeah, I forget about how cold places like that tend to be...in fact...I might just bring a few long-sleeve items to wear. I mean...if we're gonna be indoors anyways, and it will probably be cold, seems to make sense to me!

was your sorority founded in Dearborn? Just asking cuz thats a weird place it seems for a national convention. Also in Michigan the weather is always wack so bring a sweatshirt as well as the bathing suit. Also, if any of you ladies need any entertainment the Pike House is about a 15 min drive from your hotel

We were founded at Ann Arbor, but apparently there were no places in AA large enough to hold all of us, so they chose the Dearborn Hyatt.

That's very that you can't go, but it's understandable. There will be daily updates from Convention on the national web site, though! www.sai-national.org/resource/events/100.html
