Which badge do you have?

All this talk about badges all over GC has got me thinking. Which badge do you have? If you had the money, would you upgrade?

This is mine

If I had the money, I might get the alternating pealrs and garnets, and one with just the scroll edge. I like it because it's just so elegant, and it's our original badge. I have noticed that they changed the scroll a little since I ordered my badge, and I don't like it as much as the older ones.

i have alternating pearls and garnet w/ a guard that has my chapter (alpha iota) in scroll. i went all out when i got mine. i do want to get a couple more though.

when i was alumnae relations chair i had a badge that was a pass down. it was from 1934 i do believe. it was silver or white gold, i'm not really sure. it was so beautiful. i had to give it back when my chapter closed.

what's even cooler is i found the name of the sister who it originally belonged to in our chapter records.

I have the gold scroll edge. If I had the money to get a new one, I would like one with just pearls arouns the edge, although I do really like the picture you have above with the garnets in the corners!

i have the scroll edge badge as my own with my initials, pledge year and chapter on it. AND for my initiation my grandma gave me her crown pearl badge. i wear her badge because she was wonderful enough to give it to me i'd better use it! my mom has the crown pearl badge as does, my g'ma's sister, and my mom's 2 sisters. that's what everyone got back in the day apparently. my mom said she didn't have a choice, that's just what all her chapter got. they must've been cheaper back then

yeah the crown pearl badge is the one with all the pearls around it. and yeah i do have a bunch of sigma kappas in the family. i'm the 6th in my family. i was a little miffed at the triangle this issue cuz of the legacy articles. when i got initiated my mom and g'ma wrote a letter to the editor about me being the 6th one in our family and they didn't publish it. then we were over looked again in this issue. the only thing i can say is that if either of my 2 girl cousins gets overlooked if they go sk then i'll have some serious issues!

they have:
g'ma (mu '54)
great aunt (mu '51)
my mom (epsilon chi '76)
thier mom (epsilon chi '80),
my mom and their mom's sister (epsilon chi '77)
their dad's sister (epsilon chi ???)
+ me (theta psi '00)

so that's they'd be the 8th and/or 9th in their part of the family. whew! aight enough about my super legacy story and back to your originally scheduled thread!

Do any of ya'll know what to do if you want to get a new pin? I have the regular gold scrolled one because I was broke at the time, but now I really want the one with ametheysts and pearls. I don't know, but I am guessing that maybe I will have to mail mine back to headquarters or something to make sure I don't have two pins. (?)

Talking You can have as many as you can afford!

If you check out the Sisters Only Message Board there's currently an explanation on how to get a new badge.

My goal is to one day have one of each style! I currently have the basic gold gloss w/ guard and a few dangles.

If you email info@sigmakappa.org they always get to just the right person.

eta Aquastar,
I love that you used 'wicked' in your post. One of my coworkers is from Mass. and let a 'wicked' slip at lunch. i nearly died laughing 'cause it auotmatically makes me think of the SNL skits w/ Jimmy Fallon! Love. Jimmy. Fallon.

I'm the one who posted that question on the Sisters only board, because I want a new badge too. The final answer was so helpful. I have the plain gold scroll badge. I want a white gold one so I can wear it on a pendant (I don't wear gold).
