Do you all have any low fat recs for lunch
Ususally stick with the BK chicken baguette (which I think has a great portion size) and not sure what you all think of it or if you have any tips on lower fat alternatives. I always go to the gym right before lunch and hate to blow the cals immediately

Girl, what are you doing eating BK????? lol.....stop eating there!! if you want something low fat, eat a subway 7 grams of fat sandwich. Try the sliced chicken terriyaki if you like chicken. Or, you could just bring some fruit. Maybe an apple, bannana or an orange.... along with a small tuna sandwich for protein. Its up to you. i don't know what time you normally take you're lunch break, but usually if you go to a deli type of place they do have low fat meals for you to get if you ask them. I havent ate from BK since high school....absolutly horrible for your weight!

The best way to do a low fat lunch is to make it yourself. Don't go to any chain fast-food places or restaurants since many of their food is fried in lard. Make yourself a turkey sandwich (on wheat) with low-fat mayo, lettuce, and tomatoes. Pack an apple and a cup of yogurt. That's usually my lunch everyday except I usually put some cheese on my sandwich.
Also, see if your local grocery store makes sushi. The Super Targets and Publix have a sushi department. It makes for a very healthy lunch.

TUNA, and lots of it! Tuna may not necessarily be low in fat, but at least it's low in calories and carbs. Plus it's good for you. But don't drown your tuna in mayo - that just adds back what you took away. Instead eat it plain, or try it with mustard (my personal fav). They also have to flavored tuna you can get in the fresh packs. I hear those are awesome!

A grilled chicken salad with low fat dressing or better yet, no dressing is a good pick. For hot lunches, you can go to your local chinese food place and get steamed veggies with white rice- add some soy sauce, or brown sauce on the side, and you've got a really filling hot meal (I would add some protein to it, but I don't know what your diet is like).
I do Subway a lot too. Great chicken picks there that are hot, or cold cut sandwiches that can be great as long as you are careful with your toppings.
I would discourage anyone from eating at BK. Studies have shown it to be the dirtiest chain restaurant out there (most citations by the dept of health), and given the things I have seen at some Mcdonald's, that must be pretty damn bad.

I have one of these for lunch every day. Not only our they healthy but also very economical considering their only five dollars for a five pack. To spice things up I have been adding a pack of Pizza Hut crushed red peppers to my tuna mix.

My fav is the either the rainbow rolls or the tuna w/ cream cheese. mmmmmm.
I'm actually feeling better today! I think I was just exhausted. I was out late the whole weekend and up early so I could hit the malls for some gift shopping.
Thanks for your flu advice, though!

Ditto. And you'll save money too. Buy yourself some thin sliced bread, some deli-sliced turkey, chicken, ham, or roast beef, and pile that sandwich with lots of dark green lettuce (arugula is great on a sandwich) and other veggies. Use low-fat salad dressing, mayo, or different kinds of mustard instead of higher fat condiments, and bam - low fat sandwich.
Buy small (soft-taco sized) tortillas and fill them with deli meat, veggies, and top with salsa.
And if you just won't make it yourself - the BK sandwich isn't the worst choice you could make, but there are better ones than that (Subway low-fat subs, a grilled chicken sandwich without honey mustard or mayo from Wendy's).

Another good way to have it is to take water-packed tuna, squeeze the juice of one lemon over it, lots of black pepper, add a few capers and some shredded carrots, and just a tiny bit of cayenne pepper. OMG.. it is SO good!

Most people don't know that chinese places do have low fat stuff too. Just look on the menu when it says either Kow or Jum (sp?) those are different style of cooking than frying or the normal way they make their food. One is roasted and one is steamed.
Any chinese food experts care to go in depth?
