Congrats!!!
Congratulations to Shaq, Kobe, Coach Jackson and the crew for proving who is the best team in the NBA!!! This is from a Laker fan who remembers when...AC Green had a curl Magic wore those too little shorts James Worthy sported the scuba goggles and Kareem had the original "sky hook." I will admit I switched out to the Bulls during the Jordan years but hey- I am from the MidWest!
Why did SOME of the fans have to act like complete fools and tear up the city. ??? I guess you'll have that in any situation - people with no home training. Oh well, much love to the Laker's family!!!

Catwoman, I was a Bulls fan during the Jordan era as well. I haven't really watched much basketball since he retired...again. I only watched the first quarter of the game last night.
I was wondering why some people find it necessary to tear their city apart when their team wins a championship. It just doesn't make any sense. It's pathetic.

I'm a Pacer's fan personally (that Travis Best is too fine) and I'm just proud of my guys for putting up a good game. It wasn't an easy win for the Lakers.

I am soooo glad that the Laker's won. I am truly not a Pacers fan, although I do like Jalen Rose. As much as I hate to, I give the Pacers credit for making the series interesting and for playing really good basketball. I am just glad that their consistency didn't last throughout the 4th quarter. Anyway, I am happy for the Lakers. I have had the opportunity to meet Shaq (by chance at a restaurant in Atlanta) and he is a very down to earth guy who is an outstanding athlete. Also, I simply adore Coach Phil Jackson. He is an amazing coach who can make even the best athlete even better. Hats off to LA. I still can't explain the riots though. That is crazy.
Skeeeeee Weeeeee Sorors!! Have a wonderful day everybody!

Hello everyone!!!
I am a die hard LAKERS FAN and I never had a doubt that we would come out on top. I am very proud of the LAKERS for bringing the title back to L.A. where it belongs.
Although I hate the Pacers, I gotta give them their props. They keep us on our toes and at the edge of our seats.
On a very sad note: I don't know why everytime something positive happens people see it as a reason to act ignorant. Now it was not the majority of the people acting fools and fortunately I didn't hear of anyone (especially children) getting hurt. Some people will use any reason to act STUPID.
But on a HAPPY note: I wish everyone could see the pride that the LAKERS had given the city of Los Angeles during the play-offs. It's a beautiful thing!!!!

PinkCashmere, you are so right. Phil Jackson has got to be one of the coolest men out there. I think that all of us prior Bulls fans find it only natural to gravitate towards the Lakers. They have a great coach, extraordinary players and very supportive fans. While Kobe is no Mike, he's one of the most exciting players to watch right now (even though he was annoyingly arrogant last night). And words can't even explain what Shaq means to the game.
I am a true Lakers fan, and I have to admit that them playing against Indiana made this a no brainer for me. I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE Reggie Miller. Is it just me?
Did anyone else cry when they saw Shaq crying? That was so touching. I am so happy for them.

Oh, I forgot to add something. This has been on my mind the whole series and I hope someone knows the answer to this: Is AC Green still a virgin? Is he a born again virgin (used to have sex and stopped) or is he a true virgin?

Congratulations to the Lakers! I really was pulling for the Pacers. For the last 10 years, they have been trying to get to this spot. It was a long road, but they finally got to the finals. All I can say is, maybe next year! They have improved as a team over the years, I am sure they will eventually be able to get a ring!
On the other hand, the Lakers did an outstanding job. I am very proud of Shaq. I am from south Louisiana, and I remember watching Shaq at LSU, he was not able to get a championship there, but finally, he has been able to get a NBA Championship. But, I don't think the Lakers would have gotten there if it were not for my man, Phil Jackson. Phil brought that team TOGETHER! He was their saviour! I love Phil, but I had to go for the Pacers, because that TEAM has been together for a long time and they deserved their chance. But I can't stand Larry Bird!
Wasn't it nice to see Shaq's mother on the floor with him at the end of the game... instead of like some of his teammates with their.... I'm not going there, but I think you may get what I am talking about!

I too am a die hard Lakers fan. I remember growing up when there were really only two (maybe) three teams to love, and since the Lakers were (almost) all black (except for their coach, but that was o.k. because he was COOL, and could dress), I fell in love with the team. I have endured many taunts as a true fan of this team (I never switched to another team, not even the Bulls!!!), and I plan to savor this championship for a long time (((on her way out to buy a championship t-shirt)))!!!!!

Personally, I was going for Portland, they were the underdog, and personally I have a special spot in my heart b/c I know Jermaine O'Neal. But if anyone had to win (you know, excluding the Trailblazers), it would have had to be L.A.
Phil Jackson IS the coolest white man on TV. Do you see him on the bench w/his legs crossed? He rarely gets too excited!! I think that is sooo funny, the whole Lakers bench could be exploding with joy and Phil still sitting there with his legs crossed and arms folded!!! He only gets up when he feels like those refs make a bad call on his guys...that's why I like him.
Regarding A.C. Green I do recall reading an article about him late last year, and from what I read, he is a TRUE virgin. Never had any sex, or etc.....(no details needed ! That's cool! But you know what being a born-again virgin is even harder, b/c you've made the commitment not to go there...even though you know what you are missing. Well, I've said my piece.
GO LAKERS!!!
P.S.>>>DID ANYONE ELSE SEE KOBE LOOK INTO THE AUDIENCE AND POINT AT HIS RING FINGER, (KIND OF LIKE A PRIVATE MESSAGE TO HIS GIRL) WHEN HE MADE THAT SHOT TO CLINCH THE GAME? DO I HEAR WEDDING BELLS IN THE NEAR FUTURE?

I thought that gesture was about he finally was going to get a NBA championship ring. But he could have been giving that sign to ole girl!

As far as I know AC was and still is a true virgin...hats off to the brother.
I also think Kobe made that motion to his ring finger - because he was getting a championship ring. I could be wrong but I am pretty sure that is what he was doing.
