Worried About Recruitment

Ok...so I am now starting to become somewhat worried about recruitment this year...A lot of that has to deal with the massive number of graduated seniors and then the number of women who decided to transfer this year...So it looks like we are coming back with only about 33 members, which is going to hurt recruitment greatly, since some of us (ie president, frc, rim, etc) cannot recruit women one on one. The other problem is that yet again my chapter has mainly women who have not been through formal recruitment, and even though we have done some recruitment workshops already it is going to be a pretty good amount of work to have them feel comfortable for rushing women this fall...The other running problem is I have yet to be able to get my job as recruitment info manager done before spirit week...so it looks like I will be getting what i need that week and have maybe 3 days to do that in addition to helping the chapter with other preperations...Nicely though, one of the chapter's alumna and last years rim is coming up a few days early to try to help me get them done...I am just starting to worry...On a good note though, we are having a TCC up here for that week...

Oh I love TCC's...we have had them up here more then most chapters but we love them dearly....As for a nearby chapter, not really one that will come help us...the closest chapter is ASU and they have their's to prep for, the next closest is 4 hours away and since we dont have a house I am not sure how easily we can find places for them to stay if they wanted to come down...We are getting some alumnae support...more then much of the past..but a lot of them cant stay around the week...The big thing is that we really need to work with our newer sisters who have not been through formal recruitment that it is possible to recruit two girls at once...We seem to do it most years, because of the wonderus fact that people like to transfer away...so we go from 50 something to 30 something many years...

Sweetie, when is NAU's rush? I ask because as an alum in Phoenix, we have so many alums involved, more than who can help out with Gamma Rho's rush. I mean if I'm available I'd more than willing to drive up to Flagstaff and help you girls out. I love meeting new sisters.
Does Epsilon Xi have an alumna association in Flagstaff?

As it is getting closer I am becoming less worried...I am very excited to get my chapter back up here...they all move in on saturday...actual my latest worry is the low number of apps in for recruitment...I went to go pick up my chapter's copies from the office of greek life...and well last week there were only 60 apps in...which is not good for a school with 7 NPC sororities where in the past quota has been 20 something...I am hoping there are a lot of last minute apps, which really isnt that unusual for my campus...but we do usually have more in at this point...

Nauadpi, I just wanted to let you know that I emailed your evp and recruitment chair. I haven't heard back from them but I'm hoping they recieved it.
I wish there was something more I could do to help but my manager won't and really can't give the time off so last minute. Let us know how rush goes.

Well thank you brianna...and i know it is a bit crazy for my rvp and frc right now...One of which is living out of a hotel till the greek hall opens...The wonders of campus closing down all housing for a week and a half before fall move in...Also it looks like we are going to have a decent amount of chapter alum coming to help out, and we have some other alum in the area coming too. In addition to that there are now 70 apps in...which if all finished through recruitment would put quota at 10...which is atleast getting better...So hopefully we can atleast fill the room a bit and make it look like we have more then we do...

NAUADPi,

Please--- when the alum come in to help, please have your RVP or CARC have them fill out a sign-in with their name, address, phone number and email address. Also survey them-- if they are interested in being kept abreast of chapter events, being an adviser, helping the chapter with short-term projects like recruitment, alpha ed guests, coming to chapter dinner, collegiate events, attending TME, being a guest speaker, etc.

Please make sure you send thank you notes to any alum who come over to help out or cheer you on. It's a small gesture, but it will make them want to come back again!!!!
