Get two partners in crime if possible. Three people know more than one.

Pick two people you don't mind socialing with either.

The make it or break it will be whether people jell as a group.

Don't make conventional meetings. Meet with your two friends or whatever, in an easy central location over coffee and snacks, have extra stuff. Food sharing is one of the earliest forms of bonding. And then make plans to go out or whatever from there.

Use the proffessors in your major as your primary attribute. Get them to announce it it in class. However, visit each program Prof personally and ask them to they would nudge one of their special pet students towards your group.

If you have a special rapport with some profs, have them send a bunch of students.

Luckily you have a specific population to draw from that should be interested in playing with you.

Crud, if I lived closer to NTU or had a car, *I* would go out there and give you a hand!

I think that having a brochure might help. On it would be listed the purposes of the org, a list of the benefits and how to join. I found that writing it in an upbeat manner helps.

Unfortunately, this is a bit late. Let us know how it turned out!

If you don't have the material assets to provide maybe a thing of coffee or cookies or what nots . . . then a brochure or flyer like navane said would work well.

It would be great if a potential advisor or some such could be there also . . . Or some prof that has been involved with this organization before?

Make sure the paper you hand them has contact information, links and the major bullets.

Other than that try show a lot of eneergy and enthusiasm. A lot of your success will be your presentation skills.

You are not giving a report, you are sharing an exciting opportunity that will give them great benefits both proffessionally and personally without a lot of disruption on their lives

Oh and not only make the meeting quick. Set the next one up from in the middleof the current meeeting. Never say you'll call them.

Pass around a sign in sheet contact info etc . . .

Good luck.

Congratulations! I'm so glad your meeting went well!

Can you somehow use the ideas people have about fraternities to your benefit? Do something humourous with them on the posters, such as:

--------------
Want to join a fraternity, but don't want to eat a goldfish or sign your name in blood?

GOOD! Neither do we!

Come find out what a Fraternity is REALLY about at our next meeting:
April 14th, ABC Hall, room 123.
---------------

or would that not go over well at your campus? Humour can be a fine line...

We don't have Greek organizations. A friend of mine including myself, we are going to start Sigma Kappa Epsilon Pi.

** Local sorority:
Sigma Kappa Epsilon Pi **

** Not affiliated **

When you start a glo on a non-greek campus, do you need to speak to someone at the school? How do you find out if the school administration will be open to social greeks? Just curious.

We have to make a proposal and send it to the student government. We want them to recognize us as an organization, and still call ourselves Sigma Kappa Epsilon Pi.

Currently, as of 650pm on Tuesday, we are not calling ourselves a "sorority" because the school really isn't accepting of that. We are calling it a social women's club. That is easier to create than going through sorority this, sorority that.

As for our name, I'm not really sure what it will be. Whether we'd look up English to Greek words that we want our organziation to represent.. or what we represent as a group, or if we just choose something like ... I don't know, Women's Group. Not something so plain, but something that is catchy and when you think of it you don't relate it to a sorority.

Yes... maybe the women of the group in the future want to call it a sorority. We may just.. I don't know, what to call ourselves.

Not to mention the record for changing her mind more times in one day than I can scratch my head.
