Black men with hair?

THe other day me and my mother got into a discusion, and she said i need to cut my hair. I have had braids for 3 years now, and they are so much apart of who I am. She said the reason being is that I am about to go into the job market and nobody would want to hire me with braids in my hair. I talked to my fiancee and she said the same thing. But I refuse to cut my hair! I mean if i meet all the qualifications and I still can't get a job at a paticular place because I have hair, I feel that I don't need to be working at that job. I just feel that some african american give into the notion of a WHITE WORLD, being that you have to comply with the rulse of the "white man" to get by, and me being the person that I am, I JUST WANT GO OUT LIKE THAT! So my question is, do you feel that a afro centrics look can hold a person back for eing a job, such as dread, braids, afo, and etc.
