Question....

Hello Ladies,
I recently went to NJ to visit my sis for her b-day (she turned 17), she is in the stages of trying to make a final decision on where she goes to school. This discussion, in turn, lead to the topic of student org's, then of course to sororities. She was asking me several questions that I did not know. She is thinking about going to a technical college. I told her, from what I know mostly all, if not all, sororities are on four-year campuses. She asked what was the difference b/t graduate and alumnae, b/c I told her that if you didn't pledge undergrad you could pursue via grad chapter. My/Her question is: Do you have to be a college graduate (four-year) to become a member of an Alumnae chapter? Or can you graduate from a technical school and pursue membership through Alumnae or Grad....Thanks in Advance...cause it was like the senile leading the blind!!

She would have to check with the graduate chapter that is in that state. They would better answer this question. You can go to www.ask.com and type in the organization that she is looking for and type it in they will give websites to look for and get intouch with a graduate chapter.

If your sister is interested in AKA, please tell her to visit our official web site: www.aka1908.com. There is a section that talks about membership classifications and requirements. Having said that, I believe that the four NPHC sororities require a four-year college degree of all alumna candidates.
