How to Find a Complete Chapter Listing

I have searched long and hard for the complete chapter listings for all of the NPHC Sororities but I have continued to come up empty handed. After checking national and websites of chapters I am knowledgeable of I am only directed to chapters on the web. Is there anyway a person could get a complete and accurate list of all active chapters of an organization? Even the ones without websites? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

why do you need this information?

my guess would be that if the information you seek isn't on the national websites, the public is not meant to have that information.

Well I am considering transferring to be a bigger school and most of the websites of my prospective schools aren't updated. I would like to know if any NPHC sororities are present on each of the campuses.

It's only a list of chapters? Why would that be secretive?

Just because information isn't publicized doesn't necessarily mean it's secret. For example, y'all (except for a FEW) don't have my e-mail address, phone number or my specific address, but none of that is secret information.

Interest in a sorority, ANY sorority, does NOT mean that we are obligated to hand over every little piece of information just because someone wants it. You want information, but, in my eyes, you haven't looked into one of the more logical places, that being the school. I suggest you contact the Office of Student Affairs/Greek Life/Student Activities of the schools you're looking into and ask them.

As an aside, you couldn't have looked too "long and hard" because I know of one organization that does have the names & addresses of their chapters on their website.

Just go to the school's website and look at campus organizations. That is the most logical course of action. Not all chapters have publicized or up to date websites.

Well whichever organization you are referring to doesnt exist on any website I have checked. Perhaps I overlooked it, who knows. Furthermore I have looked into the OSA offices at my prospective schools, one school even told me that if a national organization imposes a temporary suspension or so forth on a chapter they are often not notified immediately. If you didn't know you should have just stated that, or simply directed me to some place where I could have found out, or not answered at all. There is no need to get snappy over a simple question, it is not only unnessecary but quite silly. I won't be rude, it is not a part of my character.

I will continue to seek out the information I am looking for via other means, I have spoken to people who were willing to give me some links.

you know SORORS, it kills me when people post saying "ANY feedback is appreciated," they get said feedback, but they don't like it because it's not what they wanted to hear, so then they get an attitude.

SORORS, didn't I tell her some places she could check? If she had already looked, a simple Thanks I checked there" would have sufficed, right? Actually, let's take it back a little. That smart azz comment "It's only a list of chapters? Why would that be secretive?" was where she first went wrong. She COULD have taken my FIRST answer that she's not meant to have that information. But NNNNOOOOOOOOO, she wants us to hold her hand & lay sh*t out on a gold platter for her. SORORS, you know that's not gonna happen on this board.

DeRe, sweetie, concentrate on getting your DEGREE, which is the REAL reason you go to college and stop worrying about plegding.

I swear, folks are really trying to f**k s**t up for everyone.

Okay, so you want a listing of all the collegiate chapters of all the NPHC sororities to make sure there are active chapters at a school before you transfer to it. So let me get this straight. If you had a chance to transfer to, let's say Harvard but they did not have certain sorority's chapter, you would not transfer there?

Secondly, you come on a DST forum asking the question and when one of the MODERATORS responds with an answer you don't like you get snippy with her? So I must assume that although you posted the question here, Delta is not the organization in which you are interested.

Thirdly, are you related to De6 who had to issue an apology on AKA Avenue?

Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Firstly, my transfer decision will not be based on whether or not a particular organization is present, I simply would like to know. I see no harm or disrespect in that.

Secondly, I posted here because I was told since Delta Sigma Theta has so many chapters this would likely be the organization that could direct me to resources to find this information. I was told that Delta Sigma Theta would be friendly and more than willing to answer any of my simple questions. Obviously I was misinformed.

Lastly, I do not know De6. I have only been here for a few weeks and this is the only forum I have posted on.

Since my post was previously deleted I am under the assumption that having an opinion or not as we like to say "Kissing Behind" isnt acceptable on this forum. Though I have the upmost respect for this organization I will not be disrespected just because you wear letters and I do not. Being Greek does not make you better than anyone else, and NO ONE will talk to me as if they have some type of higher moral standard.

1. First of all, she was nice. We don't need you to kiss nothing. WE HAVE OUR MEMBERSHIPS, DEGREES, and SORORS.

2. What my SORORS LadyGreek and Kelli have tried to suggest to you is that:

shouldn't you transfer to a school based on its overall merit? academic programs? because you like the campus and the overall atmosphere, etc. not because a chapter of Delta Sigma Theta is on that campus. THIS SHOULD BE YOUR TOP priority

NOT EVERY CHAPTER of DST has an active, updated website.

FOCUS ON SCHOOL FIRST!!!!!

Oh and just like the others, if our attitude is less than appealing and we are not serving it up a la BURGER KING, then why not try other avenues. DO NOT COME UP IN HERE getting angry because we did not tell you exactly what to do, draw you a picture of how to get there, and provide a camera for you to take snapshots along the way.

To the SFs who RESIDE where SERIOUS ONES do,

Angry ENTITLEMENT ISSUES...

1. My Sorors have graciously taken the time to answer your question. Then they offer you some sound advice. Trust me, they didn’t have to do either…and they did both NICELY at that. They owed you nothing, yet they gave you some valuable information. You BENEFITTED…and for that, they don’t get as much as a sincere “THANK YOU”. What they got was some undeserved attitude from you…and you’re the victim? Please tell us again how it is that you’re the one who’s been disrespected?

2. My Sorors’ answers were true and honest –whether it’s what you wanted to hear or not. Beyond that, what do you want? Your responses indicate that if you get anything short of being spoon-fed, babied, and mollycoddled, then you feel you have been disrespected. Might I suggest some soul-searching and an attitude adjustment? They will do wonders to cure that sense of entitlement that you seem to have.

Thank you Soror CT4! Now that I'm finally getting settled into the Georgia way of life, I hope to have the opportunity to post more often.
