Collegian websites - Alumnae
I was curious looking at www.alphagam.net at the number and how-well-done alumnae links on collegians sites were. Granted that several of the sites are under construction/links didn't work, most were missing alumnae links totally or the link only listed alumnae names.
Here is my non-scientific listing of some very well-done collegian - alumnae website links..
Alpha Kappa
Alpha Gamma
Deta Zeta
Zeta Omicron
Epsilon Upsilon
Zeta Zeta
Zeta Theta
Zeta Iota
Zeta Omega
Most interesting........
Alpha Mu ((since AM is now inactive but the link goes to AZD))
And the winner......
DELTA SIGMA!!!
(Of course, being on a BEAUTIFUL island helps
Since I'm the webmistress for Carroll Co. Alumnae website, I'll plead the fact it's undergoing changes, lol...hopefully the wonderful Gamma Tau webdesigner will help!

while we are here?
I am working on a website for TU alumnae and have designed it using frontpage. What I didn't know before I had done a lot of work was that the free hosting sites don't support frontpage, grr... So after speaking with our president, we decided to pay a small fee for a hosting site which supports Frontpage. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was going to use something called ezdot.com or something like this, but I can no longer find it.
Help, suggestions anyone?

Wish I could offer advice other than is there an AGD, relative or wonderful person that would do it for free? Gamma Tau has a relative, thank goodness (now let's not lose his email when the collegian leaves, lol).

A lot of the free web pages, like geocities, have pop up adds that really detract from the web page. Could potentially give your site a cheap feel. I think you are better off with a fee based service, even Yahoo offers one. And stick with front page. It is so easy to use, anyone with basic knowledge can take over when needed. IT folks might scoff at front page, but it gets the job done.
Edited to add... that I will be happy to help in any way I can.

Thanks for the honorable mention, Lynn! Zeta Theta's past 2 webmasters (webmistresses? ) have worked very hard on redoing the alumnae section of our website. It's not quite complete yet, but I'm hoping that the new webmasters will have time to get a further along next year.

Re: Collegian websites - Alumnae
Do you guys wanna know how much I had to pay Lynn for that award?
I've been trying to find an active collegian to take over that site because I can no longer maintain it. Besides, I'm not as web savvy as some of my younger sisters.
Ditto on FrontPage. It's so easy to use, and it makes giving up maintenance of the site even easier because most, if not all, people have FrontPage already installed on their computers.
I also like Zeta Chi's (University of Western Ontario). Chantal did a great job creating it and I got to meet her at the last Convention!
That site was created over a period of one summer. The 2001 Atlanta Convention was a big inspiration!
Being that it's AGD's Centennial, you can expect bigger and better things for the DS site.
Props also should go to the Hawaii Alumnae Chapter. hawaiiagd is its guru...and I think it's beautiful. She also does the Panhellenic of Hawaii site!

I'm so proud of my Delta Sigma sisters!
Angelfire, a free host program, has a conversion area for Frontpage users. The pop up ads aren't too bad on that site (geocities is the worst, imo). I love Frontpage, it's a good program for those non-techies and it's amazing how much you learn after awhile.

Have you looked at Verve Hosting? They're great -- I host my personal site with them. $5 bucks a month gets you all kinds of space, e-mail addresses, unlimited e-mail forwarding and frontpage extensions. Their user support is top-notch, too.

Hey Erin, I am working on it. I am having a few complications so until I figure them out, it could be a long time. Currently I am using Anglefire.com but it may change.
Thank you for the support. I will keep you informed!
