Hello
Hi Everyone,
I'm Stephanie, I'm naturally a DG at The University of Akron, Eta chapter. I realized that I haven't really posted stuff on here, nor introduced myself. I figured I probably should. I'm going into my third year in DG and school as a music education major. I'm lavaliered to a TKE. Thats all the fun stuff I can think about right now. I always read stuff and never post, but I'm trying to break out of that. So I can't wait to get to know all of you wonderful women through this forum.

Eta DG's are some of my favorites! You might remember me, I was there in March at your new member's initiation, that night was so much fun!!! I was the random DG from NCSU Everyone was wearing pink ribbons and almost made me cry!!

I still have my ribbon too! It sits on my dresser at the house so I see it everytime I'm there and will continue to see it everyday when I move back in!

Y'all just have plain pink ribbons? We had bronze, pink, and blue ones!
DGMarie...I believe that the ribbons are given as soon as bids are accepted. Then you do not wear your 'pledge pin' until the formal ceremony where they are given out. Also, I remember being told that it's very similar to your member pin, in that we were to wear our pin with something nice. The ribbon was worn with our jeans and t-shirts to class and stuff so everyone (especially after rush) would know who went where! All the chapters did it the same way!

OH! And welcome to all the Eta ladies!

actually....that is not even close to the reason why Eta wore pink ribbons that night for initiation. carolyn was up in ohio right after her mom passed away from breast cancer. her mom was a member of our chapter. carolyn came to our initiation and we all wore little pink breast cancer awareness ribbons in memory of her mother. i took my little pink ribbon and hung it in my car in memory of her mom and of that night. so that is why..

I love you girls!!! Sorry for the confusion!! DG is such an important part of my life...I'm amazed how things find you at the right time! Thank you ladies, again and again! The ribbons were not just a symbol for my mom and for breat cancer, but they are a symbol that show how DG sisters, even states apart really do care about each other...and will go to great lengths to help each other in any way possible!

I thought it was really cool that you came to our initiation. I wish I could've gotten to talk to you more carolyn. I know I did for like 5 minutes, but not enought to really get to know you. Hmmm, maybe us Eta girls should take a road trip? Oh, and I saw your post about finding your moms membership certificate, very cool. That's such an awesome find.
