Myth about Wrigley's gum
I just wanted to share with everyone that may have heard this myth (that the arrow on Wrigley's gum is in honor of his wife, who was a PiPhi) that a senior vice-president from Wrigley's came to my school to speak to some of my classes since he is a Knox alum (and brought some great samples!) and he said that is a prominant rumour, but no one has been able to verify it! Any one have any other great PiPhi trivia? Any famous PiPhis? I'm curious...I never see any listed on the back of the Greek101 magazine....In PiPhi, ~T

There is an entire chapter in Angels, Arrows and Admiration devoted to famous Pi Phis. If you've never heard of that book, it's the large wine-colored notebook that is the fraternity heritage manual. The other place to look is the New Member CD-ROM. The entire manual is on it, in .pdf form.... and, coming soon, it will be accessible on pibetaphi.org
and while it's fun to say that Mrs. Wrigley and Mrs. Parker (pens with arrow clips) are Pi Phis, those are both myths.......

I was hoping the new member program would be put on the Web site! I look forward to seeing how it has changed and stayed the same since 1987!
I don't chew gum, but I'm bummed about the Parker pens.

That's disappointing! I guess I always felt a connection with the Parker pens. When I graduated from high school my band director gave me a Parker pen, and I later found out his wife and daughter were IN Gammas! I thought it was fate in some weird way. LOL. One the end of my pen there is an arrow with a circle around it. It looked like one of our honor badges (50 years?) so I totally believed the Pi Phi/Parker pen connection!

But since they have arrows on them, I'll still buy them!

Wow!! Exciting. I can't wait to see the new things that come up from nationals for collegiate programming!
Edited to add:
Ms. Gunther, our CP is from Plano, as well. Do you know Jacquelyn?
