Presidents and their Frats
I am just curious...
Is there some web site that would say what houses each of the presidents were in? I am pretty sure that all presidents since 1750's have been in a frat...Anyone have any ideas?
Also, what houses were Clinton and Gore in?

There was no president in the 1750's. We had a king then.

I believe Clinton was not Greek - didn't he attend college in England?
One LXA has been president - Harry S. Truman.
If I rememeber correctly both Bush and Quayle were DKE's, and Reagan was a TKE. I believe you are right that all but one or two presidents this CENTURY have been greek, but I'm not entirely sure on the numbers.

Clinton is a member of Alpha Phi Omega--but no social fraternity. He attended Georgetown and Oxford, neither of which have NIC fraternities. There should be a list somewhere---I just have no idea where it is.

For watever it's worth, I read in one of our chapters' web page that every president except four (Clinton included in the four) in American history was Greek.
It also pointed out that about 75% of Congress were Greek. (I'm not sure about the exact number since it's been several months since I read the stats)
Also, an exceptionally high percentage of the CEO's of Fortune 500 companies are fraternity or sorority members.
In addition, Greeks have a higher graduation rate and contribute more money (statistically) to their university alumni associations than non-Greeks.

There is a pretty extensive list of famous fraternity/sorority members, along with those oft-cited facts about the productivity of Greeks after college on www.greek101.com. There's a clarification about the Presidents in Fraternities thing--it's every single American president since 1825, which would explain why people like Washington and Jefferson wouldn't be counted on those lists.

I know DKE has a bunch, one of which I think is cool was Theodore Roosevelt. I don't know what site would have a listing for them, but I found these guys listed at a link from greekpages.com:
Kappa Alpha Order -- J. Edgar Hoover (FBI Director)
Lambda Chi Alpha -- Harry Truman (U.S. President)
Tau Kappa Epsilon -- Ronald Reagan (U.S. President)
Sigma Chi -- Barry Goldwater (Congressman) and Grover Clevland (U.S. President)
Kappa Sigma -- Bob Dole & Estes Kefauver
Pi Beta Phi (sorority) -- Margaret Truman Daniel?? (Daughter of Harry Truman)
Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) -- Calvin Coolidge (U.S. President) and Newton Baker??2 (U.S. Secretary of War, 1916-1921)
Phi Delta Theta -- Adlai Stevenson (U.S. Vice-President)
Sigma Nu -- Lloyd Benson (Secretary of the Treasury)
Alpha Chi Rho -- Alphonse D'Amato (U.S. Senator)
Phi Kappa Psi -- Woodrow Wilson (U.S. President)
Sigma Alpha Epsilon -- William McKinley (U.S. President)

I don't know whether we've ever had a President or not, but at one time Delta Tau Delta had two alums on the U.S. Supreme Court at the same time. Justice Tom Clark and Justice William Brennan overlapped.
Justice Clark was also International President of the Fraternity and legend has it that he kept the diamond studded President's Badge in a safe in the Supreme Court Building.
