Terr McMillian's Ex...Really Trapped In the Closet

and asking for money...

i saw a blurbed about this on AKA Avenue...

i read about it on BET's Website

Terry McMillan Divorces Gay Husband
By Latria Graham

Postd June 26, 2005– Terry McMillan, whose best-selling novel about a blissful relationship between a woman and a younger man reflected her own fantasy marriage to a man 23 years her junior, ended her marriage in January after finding out he was really on the “Down Low.”

The divorce was kept quiet until The San Francisco Chronicle published an article Sunday disclosing that the 53-year-old author decided to untie the knot after Jonathan Plummer, 30, told her just before Christmas that he was gay. She also alleges that Plummer, whom she met in the resort community of Negril, Jamaica, only married her to become a U.S. citizen and that he is now seeking to nullify a prenuptial agreement and get his hands on her fortune.

i was reading Discuss It Now and was shocked at the thoughts of some the readers remarks.

Do you think the Terry McMillian should give him spousal support?

What are you thoughts on marry a man or a woman half your age?

Daaaaaaang....

I don't know about younger men. Probably because I'm in college...if I date anyone too much younger than me, I'd be dipping into the high school pool and "homie don't play that." I guess by the time I'm ready to consider marriage, I'll be at an age where I can afford to go younger. There's lots of women in my family who married younger (some of them 10+ years younger) and those are the marriages that are still going strong. Not half your age, but 10 years is a big gap.

anything over 10 years is too much of a big gap.

personally, i don't see why Terry should have to pay his trifling behind any type of spousal support. he cheated and ran up a bill talking to his boyfriend back home in Jamaica.

I hope she doesn't have to pay any spousal support.

Wendy Williams interviewed Jonathan P. the other day. You know she crazy. You can listen to the whole thing here:

Now, this is just what HE SAID... lol, believe what you wanna.

Apparently the support was supposed to start a couple of days ago and he still hasn't seen it.
He didn't know that Terri was famous when he met her, only until she started sending him clippings about her so he'd know who she was. She came on to him first.
He didn't fall in love with Terri until right before they were married.
He didn't realize he was gay until after they were married. Terri "kinda liked it" when men looked at him, and he started liking it too. He never had sex with a man before then.
Terri has his mother and his sister as allies.
He "couldn't work" while he was married to her because of his Visa or whatever, so he was basically an "off the books" employee for her. That is his justification for suing.
He plans to get money from it if she ever writes a book about their relationship.

maybe he needs to call Eric Benet and start a business or something.

Did you catch the Wendy Williams Experience on WBLS yesterday? It was hilarious. For those who are not familiar, Wendy is a shock radio jock based in New York who is famous for her in-your-face interviews and her penchant for "outing" celebrities. Anyway, she interviewed author Terri McMillan's soon-to-be-ex-husband Jonathan Plummer on her show yesterday. Jonathan is busy making the rounds of media outlets telling his tales of woe about how Terri "stripped him of his dignity" and outed him to his family - as if they didn't already know. Wendy immediately jumped into attack mode before Jonathan could even take his seat by saying, "Jonathan, I peeped your card from the very beginning." During the interview, the 2 divas verbally sparred with each with Wendy getting the best of the exchanges. You know Wendy is the queen of interviews. She's going to ask the tough questions that we all want to know. Highlights of the interview included:

Terri hit on Jonathan first in Jamaica, not the other way around

She liked it when men looked at Jonathan.

Jonathan wears Mac lip gloss

He hasn't seen a dime of the court-ordered spousal support of $2000/month or attorneys fees of $25,000

The spousal support and attorneys fees were due yesterday (7/18)

He didn't fall in love with Terri until right before they got married

Jonathan stated he'd "heard things about" Star Jones' husband Al Reynolds but he did not elaborate

Terri had a miscarriage in 1998

He may write his own tell all book

this is the interview on wendy williams.

Thumbs down

To say his lawyer was there with him, tapping him on the shoulder when he started to "say too much" I would still use that interview against his 'ol wack butt:

-later, when Terri's "based on actual events" book/movie comes out and he starts beggin' for a dime. He's already said that he's going to try to grab that money. (HOW? People can write/film whatever they want to... if she's telling HER SIDE of the story, unless you got a trademark on your personality and shifty ways, ain't nobody gonna pay YOU!)

-he's awfully *diva* to say he "just now realized" he was gay... okay, you've been hetero your ENTIRE LIFE, but now you wear Mac lipglass and keep your wrists limp? That kind of affectation doesn't just "pop up" when you're 25. You either do it or you don't.

-He's crying now about "she knew the marriage wouldn't last"-- if I read it in an Essence just after they were married, he had to have known before then. So... you knew you were entering into a temporary arrangement, but you still signed a prenup "under duress"? And you think you deserve more now that your term has run up? Negro, please.

-Star needs to sue that azz for libel. lol... won't that take the cake? Don't go trying to "out" somebody else's man on the low... why is this man crazy? He musta been crazy when she met him... why didn't she RUN?

LMBAO @ he "just now realized" he was gay. If he was just looking for work at the resort, why was he staying there with a male friend that supposedly worked there? IMO that translates into, he was at the resort with his lover when he met Terry. In a nut shell, NEGRO PLEEEAASSSEEE!!!!! Ya knew you had those tendencies from jump.
