Chapter Consultant
I'm thinking about applying. Has anyone else ever done it? Can you share your experiences?
Also, if anyone wants info, pm or email me! I'll pass along the info I have.

but her name was jamie
we were all contemplating transferring to her school
after we met her
chapter consultants just give you such a boost of energy though

My friend Jamie applied last year and got the job but turned it down last minute.
I say go for it! I would love to do it when I am done with school (well before I start grad school) It would be an awesome experience traveling everywhere and meeting cool sisters from all over the country!
Best Wishes
Heather

I heard through the grapevine that they don't have this position anymore... But that could just be a big ole fatty rumor. So if you can, go for it! I would have love to have done it... Good luck!

I heard they didn't have the postion this year because only one person decided to do it. Hopefully it was just this last year and won't become the norm. The three years I've been in phi sig, we have only had one chapter consultant. She rocked!

We've had two consultants... And I'm thinking that we're not having one this year... The first one was Amy Jo---I think she was from somewhere in the Mid-west area. Not sure... Our second was a sister from LaVerne (I'm kicking my butt right now, cuz I can't remember her name!!!) She was cool. She's one of the advisors at Woodbury now. Well I gotta get going.

Beth- the name you are looking for is Shellie.
The chapter consultant position will be around for 2003-2004. Again from my March Aiming Highlights:
What decisions have been made in regard to the Chapter Consultant Program? Is there a committee working towards re-instituting this program?
Phi Sigma Sigma is currently soliciting applications for 2003-2004 staff positions. Staff members may be graduate students who work part-time with local chapters or travel several weekends a semester. Full-time staff members may be considered based on our specific needs and the candidate pool. If you are interested in applying for a paid staff position (part-time or full-time), please contact Lisa Daly (ldaly@phisigmasigma.org).
So for jess_pom and anyone else interested Go For It! Everyone I know who has been a consultant has said that it is definitely worth it.

I wouldn't mind doing it
But I don't graduate until next year
And even then, I'm moving home to Texas
Where we have an alumnae club but not a chapter
And I'm going to go around looking for some place to start up a chapter
But I still would like to do it
Do you think I should apply even though I'm not graduating until later?

Man, I knew it! Shellie was on the tip of my tongue... For some reason I wanted to say Shelia, and I KNEW that wasn't right. Thanks Tara!

Hey!
I applied last year...but didn't get an interview! But that's ok...I'm having a pretty good time in Quebec this year! I'd reapply, but I'm going back to school next year!
Anyway, while i was active in Phi sig we had 4 consultants (in 3 years).
The first was Cindy, next came Wendy (she was from laverne too wasn't she?) , then Casey and finally Michelle!
I really loved Wendy and Michelle! they were great consultants! I just wish I could have made michelle's stay a bit more interesting ( I was Archon and I meant to take her around town a bit, but I got sick and no one else was really around).
Well good luck to all of you who apply!!

when Jamie, a sister from my chapter got interviewed she had to fly out to them. I think they paid for the plane ticket and everything. I don't remember though if her interview was at C.O. or if it was somewhere else, but she did have to go to where ever the interview was going to be conducted. I'm not sure if it is the case for every interview but maybe. Hope that helps

Well, applications were due April 1, and I haven't heard anything yet. I email CO to get an idea of the hiring timeline, and they said they hoped to have everyone hired by the beginning of May.
So, I guess it's not looking too promising for me to be a Chapter Consultant this year!

Sister, where is your faith?
If you have it like the grain of a mustard seed, you can move mountains.
Be positive.
