Rockin' the A Phis
So sisters, what's in heavy rotation in your CD player/iPod/mp3 playlist?
I'm in search of some new music. A friend recommended Christopher O'Riley, a classical pianist who just released an album of Radiohead songs arranged for classical piano. Yeah I know - weird, eh? But if you're a Radiohead fan, it actually works. You can listen to samples at his website True Love Waits.
What are you listening to?

I just bought the Kelly Clarkson CD. Yes, I watched the first American Idol religiously. I highly recommend it. Otherwise I usually listen to CD's that I make on my computer from playlists...lots of different types of music.

Norah Jones is great!!! I got her CD when few ppl knew about her, but it is one of the greatest CD's I have. Also, DMB is pretty good (I love all of their stuff). Coldplay is TOP on my list!!! both of the CD's they have out are great!!!

And Maharet, I used to be a HUGE Sir Paul fan, but something about his new wife bugs me.. maybe it's the fact that he doesn't have a prenup and I know she's going to take him and his family to the cleaners someday.
(I wasn't young enough to hate Linda -- I actually liked her -- so I think of Heather as my generation's Linda )

Sir Paul
I don't think so...With a baby on the way (she didn't think she could get preggers...) I think this is truly a blessing all the way around. Did you know Linda and Paul NEVER spent a night away from eachother (except the Japan thing...) during their entire marriage?
I went to his concert here in Porltand and he looked sooooo good - Heather was there in the front row and she smiled when Paul did his tributes to Linda (very touching...as were his tributes to John and George) He got choked up too when he sang Heather's song.
He can still rock with the best of them...Have you heard his CD Back in the US? OUTSTANDING! Seeing him in concert next to getting married and initiation and a few other classroom teacher moments, was one of the major, magical occasions in my life. Can't explain why...just was.

Re: Sir Paul and Other Music
Yep, I knew that about Paul and Linda, and I actually cried when she died. But Heather... I dunno. Something squicks me anytime a man marries someone who is the same age as one of his kids.
I didn't see him in concert this go-around because I knew she would be in the audience, and I didn't want to hear any sappy tributes to her. I know I'm being uncharitable, but maybe it's because I secretly think he should have married ME instead! The last time I saw him was in the early 90s. I had lousy seats, but the concert was still great.
In other music: Currently listening to Kenna - a guy who was born in Ethiopia but raised in the US. His style can best be described as Howard Jones meets ambient. It's very cool.
Also listening to: Prefuse 73, a hip-hop artist from Atlanta. Not hip-hop in the traditional sense, it has more of a trancey slant to it, but it's good.

From www.patgreen.com:
PAT GREEN ... has sold over two-hundred thousand independently-released records. He is a legitimate star in Texas, who sells out every venue in his home state, even the cavernous Billy Bob's in Ft. Worth. And he's done it all on his own. It's a rare accomplishment in the music business. One that made the powers-that-be from New York to Nashville stand up and take notice.

I listen to everything, but what I listen to most is:
Shakira, Cory Morrow, and country television and radio -- all day, every day.
