Where Is Everybody???

OK. Our little forum has been too quiet. I think it's time for all GC DZs to post an update on what's happening in your world (DZ related and not).

I, for one, have been living on 3 hours of sleep a night, as I finish my Independent Study and get ready to write 2 more papers and then exams. I will graduate from law school on May 17th, and really need the time to slow down, just a bit.

Still no legal job yet, but I'm just going to quit worrying about it for now and concentrate on finishing school...then there's the bar exam...ugh.

Nothing going on with Lubbock DZ Alums right now...we are chilling until July (everyone's too busy!). But we had a good Pampered Chef fund raiser and sent our first chapter donation to the Foundation last month!

Hope everyone is doing well. Seriously, people. Post something. I need something to break up the monotony of all this academia, and for some reason, Surfing Sisters is down (at least when I try to access it, I get that "archives not currently available" thing).

Later!

I am graduating on Friday and then moving home. I will then be taking over the alumnae panhellenic in my area (never knew it was there) and hopefully sending out newsletters to local graduating seniors in the area about recruitment as well starting a rec campaign for those interested. I am also in the process of looking to start an alumnae chapter for DZ in my area as well. Besides that I will be going to FAU to get my MBA and taking prequisites for dental school and hopefully be teaching at the UF remote campus in my town as well as obtaining some kind of job so I can pay my bills!!

Still job searching. Currently re-vamping my resume with help from the SSer's favorite Dallas based recruiter, Ms. Long

Dayton alums-Getting ready to start our membership drive. Next week is our May meeting, a "high tea". Elections will be soon, and I'm considering running for some small office to get my feet wet.

Surfing Sisters-Finalizing plans for the cookie cutter sale! PM me if you're interested in buying AWESOME handmade, copper cookie cutters shaped like a Delta, Zeta, turtle, or lamp!

I am getting ready to graduate a week from Saturday. I am excited, but I don't want to leave.

I don't have a job yet, and I have no idea what I will be doing after I graduate. I think I will travel for a while this summer, then maybe go to grad school next spring. Either that, or bartend.

Tonight's supper at the sorority house is gross. Frosted Flakes are my best friend.

I need to buy some sunscreen.

That's about it. Hey, NikkiDZ, how much are those cookie cutters?

Wow! Aside from your personal accomplishments, I wish more graduating seniors were like you--already planning serious alumnae involvement! Such dedication to DZ! UF56, you are my hero(ine)!

Congrats to everyone who is graduating!

Well, today I met with the Old VP of Membership for the NOVA Alumnae Chapter in VA to get the materials from her. I will be taking over in May. Then I met right afterwards with the new VP of Programming to give her my old materials. I can finally say after 3 years of Programming I can pass it along!!

I went to Omicron Sigma's 10th Anniversary Celebration here in the DC area on Saturday. It was really fun and special. I spoke at the celebration and passed along congrats from Alumnae Leaders.

On Sunday I attended a reception for Foundation with our National President. Denise and Ruth (Foundation President) and other Greek Leaders are in town to Lobby Congress about Greek rights. She is so nice and sweet. It was a small reception so we had lots of time to pick her brain and just have a fun conversation. She is amazing.

Personally I just had a new washer/dryer and treadmill installed at my house, and tomorrow I get a new Heating and A/C unit, dishwasher and Fridge. Exciting around here

That's it!

Well, let's see...

1) I got engaged on April 15th to my boyfriend of two years. So, right now, I'm in the middle of wedding planning. We're meeting with our priest tomorrow morning to set a date and start the Pre-Cana courses that Catholic couples are required to take before their weddings.

**Heather, if you're reading this... I got your very sweet note in the mail this week. Thanks so much for the engagement congrats!! **

2) Yesterday, I got to visit one of my best friends at the hospital to see her brand new baby girl!

3) Tomorrow night, FI and I are going to my alumnae chapter's Casino Night, which is a charity event for the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf.

4) I'm trying to coordinate a weekend getaway for one of my DZ little sisters who is getting married in July. Can't tell y'all where we're going or what we're doing, though, because she visits GC sometimes, and this is going to be a SURPRISE!!!

5) Today I'm taking care of my cocker spaniel baby who has been sick the past couple of days. Had to take him to the vet this morning because his tummy is upset, and now am waiting to find out what the trouble is.

6) Last week, I journeyed to Athens, GA, to watch my UGA girls' Senior Ceremony. We've got a lot of wonderful sisters who are graduating this month, and the chapter put on a wonderful event for them! We had some great alumnae support at the ceremony, too, which was very, very nice!!

**You're welcome, Carrie!!**

I'm not up to much of anything....I started a new job at RSI Foster Care in Nashville. I'm a "Family Specialist", which is a social worker that works to reunite foster kids with their birth parents. I'm a bit overwhelmed so far

Other than that, well, nothing is going on in my life!

I am currently studying for finals and writing papers. I have one more semester of school left (Yay). After grad in december, I am taking a semester off, then I start Law School.

Right now, I am starting up my girl scout group that is part of pilot program to encourage middle school aged girls to stay part of girl scouts. I am so excited!!!

Other than that, I am just working and just got back from Louisville for Derby- it was awesome!!!

I'm coordinating the young alumnae group here in Nashville, so if she'd be interested in being involved, put us in touch with one another!
