Question silly awards

Hey all,

I am at a petetioning group in NC and we are going to give out awards. I was wondering what ideas you all have for awards. My groups couldnt come up w/ very many, so I was wondering what you all give out there. Thanks!

well, my home chapter was a little different.....instead of a banquet at the end of the year, we had a formal at the end of pledging. the pledges gave awards to the brothers. you pretty much picked the brothers you want to recognize, and then name them after something silly (or inspiring) that they did.

You can do two kinds of awards: silly and serious. Here are some serious awards from my chapter:

Pledge of the Semester. Given to the pledge whom the Brothers feel best exemplified the spirit of APO during their pledge period. Voted on by those who were active Brothers during that semester. More then one might be given if more then on pledge received the same high number of votes.

Brother of the Year. Given to a Brother who has been active for atleast a year and who has best exemplified the spirit of APO during that time. Voted on by all active Brothers. Recipents also recieve a Life Membership. Again. may give out more then one in case of split.

Cardinal Principle Award. 3 Awards given to Brothers who best exemplified one of our 3 cardinal principles. This is decived upon by our President, Membership-VP, and Service-VP (all of whom are ineligble). S-VP puts forth the Service Principle, M-VP the Friendship, and President the Leadership.

Chapter DSK. Criteria is in the Board Manual. Our method is to do by nominations to our DSK committee. Since the award is for service over a period of time, its usually those who have been in for over a year who are usually considered.

We also recognize the pledge who gets the most signatures, and I've suggested they also recognize the pledge who does the most service hours.

Hope this helps
