Randomness
I just thought I'd pick up the conversation in this forum.
So here's my question.
1. Where do you/did you go to school?
2. How many Sororities and Fraternities are there on your campus?
3. Which Fraternities/Sororities do you affiliate with most?
4. What do you think our reputation is like on your campus?!?!
---------------------------------------------
1. I go to University of Nebraska at Omaha (Zeta Delta Chapter).
2. There are four sororities (Chi-O, Alpha Xi Delta, Zeta Tau Alpha and Sigma Kappa) and five Fraternities (Pikes, Sig Eps, Theta Chi, Lambda Chi, and Phi Delt).
3. We affiliate most with the Pikes but we're starting to get closer to the Sig Eps.
4. We're known as the intelligent, outgoing group that usually wins the most awards. We have the most girls (75) and our girls are the most active on our campus! Unfortunately I think the above gives the other sororities on our campus the idea that we're overly competative, even though we're not. I also think some of the guys are intimidated by us (other than the Pikes). LOL!
------------------
What do you get when you cross an Alpha Omicron Pi and a Sigma Phi Epsilon? A beautiful Chi Omega!

1. University of South Alabama (Beta Theta Chapter) Go Jags!
2. There are five sororities on campus (AOPi, Alpha Gamma Delta, KD, Phi Mu, and us!) and eights fraternities (KA, Kappa Sig, Phi Kappa Sigma, PKA, Pi Kappa Phi, SAE, Sigma Chi, and TKE).
3. We generally hang out with the Pi Kappa Phis, and also the TKEs. As for sororities, we have a rivalry with Phi Mu.
4. We are really aproachable. There are the absolutely gorgous girls, the academics, the partiers, etc. But no one here is pretentious and we all like to hang out with girls in other sororities and independants. We have had the best GPA for several years, we have made quota every year for the last few years, we have the most Who's Who and SGA people. I feel like we are probably one of the best liked sororities - some have a problem with "elite-ism." Phi Mu absolutely hates it when we win at anything!

By the way - congrats on "Moderator" status Hootie!

First of all
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Hootie! So psyched to see the Moderator next to your name!
Second- great topic- out of all my friends- I am the only one who had to work today -I am glad to see a new topic!
I'm an alum but I did go back for a reunion last September and got the scoop.
Chi Omega- Alpha Delta Chapter- Indiana State
17 Fraternities and 13 Sororities- http://web.indstate.edu/slp/Fratgpa.html
The above link goes right to all of them and their grade standings.
Each fall there was homecoming and you would get paired with one or two fraternities; each spring would be a bike race and again- you are paired with a fraternity so we never hung around with just one group - it was always the group we were paired with. My personal favs were Pikes, ATO's and TKE's. When I first pledged- the big competition was with AOPi but towards the end of school- we got along great with everyone. The girls there now are first in grades, first in rush quota, have high positions with Union Board, SGA and the Panhellinic. You can check out their site:
http://hurricane.indstate.edu/users/koby/
Take care everybody!

Hi Ladies!
1. University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Delta Alpha chapter
2.We have 4 sororities (Chi O, ADPi, KD, and Sigma Kappa) and 6 fraternities (Lambda Chi, Phi Delts, Sigma Chi, Kappa Sig, Pike, and TKE.)
3. We have 100 girls in our chapter so I think we are pretty split between the other groups. (I mean this in good way, I think you can find Chi O's hanging out with every other group.)
4. (Hootie, your chapter sounds a lot like mine!) We have sisters in almost every club and organization I can think of, many being officers. We've been highest in scholarship and made quota since I can remember. In the almost 3 years I've been active we've won homecoming, intermurals, stepshow, all sing, and greekshow at least once, more in most cases. I'm not really sure how others perceive us. Mostly positive from what I can tell. Sometimes I feel (I may be wrong) that others may be intimidated/jealous of us b/c we do win so many awards, etc. Not that we'd want anyone to be. It just sort of happens that we win. We work hard but we also have fun.

Great Topic, Hootie!
1. Sam Houston State University
2. Sororities: 3 recognized, 1 not but still very active--
ADPi, AXO, ZTA, Chi O
Fraternities: 11-- Sigma Tau Gamma, Sigma Nu, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Delta Tau Delta, Phi Delta Theta, Kappa Alpha, Tau Kappa Epsilon, Kappa Sigma, Theta Chi, Sigma Chi, Phi Kappa Theta (colony)
3. The Chi Os here mostly affiliate with the Sig Taus, Sig Eps and Delts.
4. The way our sisterhood has grown the past couple of months, I think people now veiw us as a strong, confident group of ladies. I think people respect us so much more now.

I'm just curious how come Sam Houston has only 3 sororities and like 11 fraternities?!?! That's just an odd ratio!
I'm glad that your sisterhood has proven strong and that you're continuing to receive support there!
Congrats!
Hootie!

Some of my brothers dated your sisters but generally Chi Omega hung out with PKA and Sig Ep. I remember a fun graphiti social we did with your some of your sisters. By the way, I went with one of your VT Tech sisters to formal and had a pretty good time.

Washington State University
Sororities: Chi Omega, Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Gamma Delta, Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Pi, Ceres, Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Delta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Pi Beta Phi, and Sigma Kappa (15 in total)
Fraternities: Alpha Gamma Rho, Alpha Kappa Lamda, Alpha Tau Omega, Beta Theta Pi, Delta Chi, Delta Sigma Phi, Delta Tau Delta, FarmHouse, Kappa Sigma, Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Gamma Delta, Phi Kappa Sigma, Phi Kappa Tau, Phi Kappa Theta, Phi Sigma Kappa, Pi Kappa Alpha, Psi Upsilon, Sigma Chi, Sigma Nu, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Theta Chi, and Theta Xi (22 in total) (We keep losing fraternities, last semester we lost Tau Kappa Epsilon.)
We affiliate with a lot of fraternities, lately we've been hanging at Phi Kappa Theta (PKTs), Delta Chi, and Phi Kappa Alpha (Pikes). As far as sororities we do not necessarily hang out with any certain house, but women in our house all know women from other houses. Two of my good friends are Kappas.
As far as our reputation, we are know as the most diverse house on campus. We have women involved in almost every aspect of campus life. We have girls that are into scholarship, sports, politics, socials, etc.

1. I go to University of Central Florida in Orlando!! I love it here!
2. We have the following sororities: Chi O, ZTA, A D Pi, KD, Pi Phi, AZD, Theta,Tri Delta, and DG. Kappa Kappa Gamma is going to be colonizing next fall!
As for frats, we have 16 of them. Sigma Chi, Sig Ep, Lambda Chi, Pike, ATO, DU, TKE, Phi Delta Theta, FIJI, SAE, Kappa Sig (can't think of the others!)
3. We usually hang out with Lambda Chi and DU.
4. We're known to be the down to earth girls who know how to have a good time!! We're really involved on campus, the Panhellenic President is a Chi O and so is the Treasurer! We're only three years old!! My big sis is a founding sister of my chapter. Cool huh? We're new, but we've made such a huge mark among the Greeks, placing in Homecoming and Greek Week and other Philanthropies.
I love GreekChat.com!! I just found it a couple of days ago and I love being able to get to know sisters from everywhere!! Take care!
Love-
