SAE at LSU?

my boyfriend is an SAE legacy and would love to recolonize the group at Louisiana State University. however, as most of you may remember, the death of an SAE pledge from alcohol poisoning at LSU several years ago prompted the organization to close their chapter on our campus. it's been awhile, obviously, and the LSU fraternities have, for the most part, shaped up in many senses, due to a strict annual assessment and closer surveillance. how likely do you think it would be the nationals would want to come back to LSU?

SAE @ lsu

i'm sorry to say , but I do not think it will happen again.
He should contact the National Fraternity office and see what his chances would be to start an interest group.

it's possible

It's gonna require a lot of time, i read about the LSU incident this past summer in Chicago. Contact Mike Corelli, director of expansion.

Michael Corelli
Department: Member Services
Position: Coordinator of Expansion
E-mail: mcorelli@sae.net
Direct Dial: (847) 424-3032

Or call (800) 233-1856 and ask for Mike Corelli

The whole process of going from contacting the national office, becoming an official interest group, getting colony status, then finally getting a charter can take up to 2-3 years or longer depending on the group of guys involved. The chapter at UCLA rechartered not too long ago in a record 13 months, but it's very rare for that to happen. Good luck though and feel free to pm me if you have any questions.
