Superhero Theme Social
Hi guys. My sorority and another fraternity are planning a social on Saturday night. The theme for the social is Superheros. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for good costumes. We have considered the obvious ones like Superman, Batman, and Wonderwoman, but we are looking for some original or different ideas that people won't all show up as. I think I might go as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but I might change my mind. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a great evening!

When I was in school, my (now-)husband and I went as "Plaidman and Ribbon" -- feel free to do parodies and stuff.
(The above costumes involved him in plaid everything-- ties, shirt, pants, socks, shoes, boxers, etc., and me in a leotard and fishnets with ribbons wound all through the fishnets and around the edges.)
As far as traditional costumes go, you could go as Phoenix from the X-Men (red wig or dye your hair), or even go as a supervillan of some sort (Mystique comes to mind if you can find a blue body stocking that you're willing to wear in public).
Other than that, Buffy sounds darned cool!
